PHILADELPHIA – Michael Vick bought a new dog – a beagle!
NFL star and current starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, Michael Vick, made headlines three years ago when he was convicted of dogfighting. Well, now he’s bought a new dog – it’s a beagle for the Eagle!
As part of Vick’s dogfighting sentence, a judge banned Vick from owning a dog ever again. But there are three reasons the judged changes his mind and rescinded the ban: 1) Though injured, Vick is doingwell as an NFL quarterback, thrilling NFL fans with his play; 2) Vick has won over the hearts and minds of the citizens of The City of Brotherly Love; and 3) Vick’s daughters really want a dog. “Ah, come on, we can’t deny the girls a dog,” said Judge Herman Wilton of West Virginia.
After the judge announced his decision, Vick immediately ent out and bought a cute, little beagle. He named the dog, HutHut.

Vick thinks that having HutHut as a pet is a big step in his rehabilitation process.
“Having a pet in my household, shows people that I care for animals.”
William Tacatoo, president of the Humane Society of the Pennsylvania, says he has been around Vick a good deal over the last two years and feels confident Vick would be a great pet owner. “He loves dogs, he really does.”
“I will take good care of HutHut in my household. If they want to monitor me doing it, hey can,” said Vick, who noted that when he was growing up in Virginia he had many dogs, ranging from a beagle to a mixed breed.
Since being released, Vick has made appearances on behalf of the Humane Society as well as addressing various students groups on the lessons he’s learned.
“HutHut will live a happy life,” Vick said. “I know that. He will be the happiest beagle on earth.”

if the judge can give this man a second chance for the cruel way he treated a pitbull (making the dog fight) and after 3 years the judge said he deserves a Second Chance as he done his crime THEN ALL dangerous breed should have a SECOND CHANCE and the BAN SHOULD BE LEFTED FOR THESE DOGS!! because if it was not for the people like VICK ,our dogs would had not got the BEEDS SO HATED….
I do not like what vick did but instead of dumping money here and there to make it look good why doesnt he give money for care for the rest of there lives to the owners for the dogs he has damaged also why not have to give it to the breed he destroyed for example pitsbulls and parolies.. i am sure there are also others that are fighting for this breed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Vick is a sociopath and shouldn’t be close to animals let alone have one. And for all you morons that think he served his time for the crimes, HE DID NOT! He was not convicted of animal cruelty because he made a plea deal. If he would have been tried for animal cruelty and convicted, he would have gone to prison for 40 years (5 years for each 8 count that they had evidence for). So that’s why the degenerate made a plea deal, he knew the evidence was stacked against him and he would be sitting in prison for a long, long time.

This is just plain wrong. Vick was told in court he could never have another animal and now he has been so reformed that he just loves dogs? I don't friggin think so. He didn't do his time and the judge didn't follow up on the original do's and don't's. He can afford to buy his way out of anything and he has done so.

It's good to see so many judge, jury, and executioners. God, the Creator, or whatever you believe is the only judge. I think what Vick did is grotesque. But if he's said he's changed, I have to take his word AND it's not my place to judge. I can see why people bring the race card out on this one though. Hello There, the NFL is full of scumbags, this is evident. Rape, drugs, DIU’s, violence, all plague the NFL but its tolerated because of status. I don’t wish Vick harm but you must admit that others (black, white, hispanic,etc) do a crime and are lucky to find gainful employment let alone 10 million dollar job. it’s a sad but its a factual reality to our current society. a child molester would not be permitted to adopt a child once found guilty. but this scum is given a second chance, it’s just not right.

a little non publicized fact. While raiding the "bad news Kennels" investigators came upon a kennel of beagles. The puzzled investigators were baffled. After much speculation the dogs purpose, they found out that Vick and his co- conspirators were using beagle puppies as "bait" and to excite the pitts in the ring because of the beagle's legendary bark they emit particularly when they are scarred. i do not know why this information has escaped the media. Why this monster is still playing, I cant comprehend. vick did NOT serve his time for animal cruelty. he served time for GAMBLING. I am saddened that people cannot look at the bigger picture. until we treat ALL those less than us humanely, we will continue to suffer as a species and commit atrocities against one another.
Where did you get your information regarding the beagles? I saw the news story where they found five beagles and two Rottweilers in the house, all healthy. At the time they surmised the dogs were part of the "front" image, that of a successful and well-off NFL player. I'd like to know how the purpose you reported for their presence at Vick's house was determined. Thanks.

How is comparing what vick did and weather or not he should ever be allowed to own another animal have to do with serial killers or what color they are. If you have ever read in depth the horrible things he was able to do to animals and look at it not from a football fans eyes but eyes of a compassionate human then you would understand!!!!! OK what the hell-Vick having another dog–is that judge out!!! And as far as the Humane Society backing Vick–I have NO use for them either!!! This monster has been put on a pedastal because he can play football-Eagles you guys can have him-but don't display a helpless animal with him! The 2 does not go together! This decision is a wrong one!! He should NEVER be allowed around dogs let alone owning one. As far as I am comcerned I would never support Humane Society again, let the Eagles enter my living room, or have any respect for justice again!! Poor dog,I hope he really realizes how precious they really are.If he does he could do a lot of good work in their favor.I pray that little one will be safe.If he hurts it he should be locked up forever.
okay, so his ids want a dog, he likes having pets . . . nobody likes this animal abuser/killer anymore. why do you think he's been charged at so many times – and given so many concussions – for? there have been so many people who'd raher go to prison for KILLING VICK, over him having anymore animals! "HutHut" is better off living on the streets, as a stray, than living with this "man."why give him another chance after killing so many dogs, damaging heirlives, and then denying that he had any kowledge of it going on when it was cleary on his property? i think that judge needs to be kicked off the bench – fired! – becuse he just killed "HutHut."
