PALO ALTO, CA –Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will be shut down in May of 2013. Managing the site has become too stressful.
“Facebook has gotten out of control,” reportedly said Zuckerberg in a press conference outside his Palo Alto office, “and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.”
Zuckerberg reportedly went on to explain that starting May 15th, users will no longer be able to access their Facebook accounts. That gives users (and Facebook addicts) a year to adjust to liwithout Facebook.
“After May 15th, 2013 the whole website shuts down,” said Avrat Humarthi, Vice President of Technical Affairs at Facebook. “So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them off the internet. You won’t be able to get them back after Facebook goes out of business.”
Zuckerberg said the decision to shut down Facebook was difficult, but that he does not think people will be upset.
“I personally don’t think it’s a big deal,” he said in a private phone interview to a source close to a friend. “And to be honest, I think it’s for the better. Without Facebook, people will have to go outside and make real friends. That’s always a good thing.”

i think this is really fucked up we did not get the notice so now we can not get our pic's or nothing else we have put alot of money and time in all the games so u really srewed alot of people so we can not even talk to our friends and family so why did u stop the facebook

I thought this was a joke as well, when it stopped working here (Around Midnight central time) i tried another browser, re-booted, etc etc. Thought it must just be down or hacked, so i went to Twitter and no one was talking about it. It is 2:28AM now on the 16th. This is really odd. And possibly a huge hack? Anyone?

Facebook hasn't shut down so plzzzzzzzz stop this stupid rumours about facebook will come to end as it won't be happening. i think this is fake rumours like football rumours Facebook willl "NEVER" going to close down until very long time and most probably couple of months or years. Its too early to end facebook now. i think facebook is smart way of social network of the way u can reconnect your old friends or girlfriends/boyfriends. You can still message them or chat to them online through facebook. Facebook cannot end now and it will never be closing down right now until i say "AFTER COUPLE OF MONTHS OR YEARS"

look at what you have done mark you have made everyone so happy. it doesn't matter how much it gets out of control you have made everyone get in touch with lost one over years. it not out of control you have made a internet worldwide experience and made hundreds out of it. please don't shut it down i have all my friends that i found for many years back and i just don't want facebook to shut down this is one of the many reasons why i signed up for it and that what i think many others do just to keep in touch with friends and find the lost one they haven't heard in years.
How im gonna talk with my my friends? I cant even talk to them on the phone cause my family hates them and they love isolating me from them. I have no way to talk in person cause i get stallked by family.this sucks now .this is why i have no celphone. Cause my family hates me having friends.
