STEPHANIE SEYMOUR’S BLANKET

LOS ANGELES – Stephanie Seymour called off her divorce after her husband returned her “blankie.”

A few months ago, supermodel Stephanie Seymour was going through a pretty nastily publicized divorce with her billionaire husband Peter Brant.

But Seymour says a red Navajo blanket brought the both of them back from the brink of lawyer craziness and anger at each other.

Seymour, who’s on the cover of May’s issue of Town and Country , told the magazine that seeing a special red blanket among Brant’s things made her realize that the “dirty fight” she was engaged in with him was not only not worth it, but also not necessary.

Brant then gave her back the blanket as a sign of his undying love and affection.

“The ‘dirty fight’ is all about winning, not healing,” Seymour said. “It’s fueled by people you’re paying. It is the lawyers talking and not you.  When Peter gave me back the blanket, I knew he still loved me.”

Seymour was distraught without her blanket.  Here she is looking for it:

And here she is throwing a tantrum because she can’t find it:

Brant told WWN that he used the red blanket as a peace-offering – and it worked.  “Stephanie doesn’t like to be away from her red blanket for more than twelve hours at a time.  When the divorce proceedings began, I took the blanket and hid it in my closet.  I knew it was wrong and today… today, I gave her back her blankie.”

After Stephanie hugged her red blanket for an hour, she called a truce with Brant.

Seymour told Brant. “I have more confidence in you, and I would hope that deep down you would have more confidence in me, that we can work this out.”

Since the reconciliation, Seymour says she and Brant still live in separate homes and are in counseling. “Of course we’re in therapy,” she said. “And then I have my own therapist, and the kids have theirs, and there is nothing wrong with this.  But the important thing is that I have my red blankie back and now I can be happy again.”
