FACEBOOK TO CHARGE USERS!

facebook_charge

BREAKING -  Facebook, a public company, has reportedly announced a bold new plan – charging users?

Mark Zuckerberg reportedly announced that there will be a host of new changes to Facebook.

WWN’s  J.B. Smitts broke the story that Facebook was shutting down on May 15, 2013.  Maybe this helped Zuckerberg come up with his new plan?

Pressure from angry users has been too much and Facebook is looking at an alternative, something that will persuade Mark Zuckerberg to keep the site alive:  his social media platform is going to start charging users!

According to sources outside the company, Facebook is planning a subscription-based service with monthly fees starting at $0.99 for a basic “friendship” which allows for the posting of text and just one profile picture.  This fee will increase, depending on the number of friends you have, the messages posted and sent, and the pictures/videos/ games put on a user’s page.  The monthly fee will be capped at $50.00 per month at the high-end.

Bottom line:  the more you use Facebook, the more you will pay.

Reports from sources not affiliated with company are saying that all existing content has been “grandfathered” and will not be disrupted – though Facebook has decided to share this data with government agencies, including the FBI , the CIA and Michael Moore.

CIO, FLoyd Collins said – “people will get used to paying.  It’s not so bad.  What’s a few bucks a month?”

Investment bankers, including Goldman Sachs, who brought the company public,  learned that Mark Zuckerberg wanted to shutter the site, and are thrilled at the prospect of Facebook converting to a pay service.

“The addition of this substantial revenue windfall makes Facebook all that more attractive as an investment,” said Tom Wotozowski, Senior Vice President of Goldman Sachs.  “This will make it the largest corporation on the planet,  ever.”

Industry watchers estimate that the new fee-based program will generate well in excess of $50 billion in new revenue for the company – based on the most conservative assumptions of usage and the proposed tiered fee structure.

These estimates, of course, account for the fact that millions of users may quit Facebook in response to the imposition of fees.  “I’m not going to pay for Facebook!  It’s like paying for air.  It’s not right,” said longtime Facebook junkie,  Jessica Samsille.  “Screw them, I’m going back to MySpace,” said Bo Chan.

No matter.  Facebook executives are excited at the prospect of charging users. “We’re going to make money hand over fist,” said Facebook CEO Cindy Shooman.  “I think converting to a pay service is something that will make Mark want to keep the site going.  And I’ll finally get to buy an island in the Mediterranean.”

May 15, 2013 is Facebook Day.   The site will either shut down, or start charging users for its service – according to sources close to people from Silicon Valley.

SOOOO FAWK TARDED! …………………………………………………….WEEKLY WORLD NEWS IS SUCH A FUCK TARD! LOL! DUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! (o)(o)

  2. If you think about it, Facebook has almost a billion users. If they charged $.99 US per month, they would earn over 10 Billion $US per year! Yet, there is no need to charge anything to users (and risk losing audience) because they generate revenue from advertisers and partners, and they can increase advertising rates to earn more, if they wish. No advertiser is going to turn down the opportunity to reach a billion people.

    Hi FACEBOOK,,
I come from a less develop country, but in my country, people still use fb as a "feast day", I know facebook has start charging users to use from $ 0.99 .. ..
You know in my country you will have a $ 0.99 breakfast or simple lunch, and $ 50 is equal to 1/3 monthly salary of graduate students …
So …. they will give up a breakfast to update STT, make friends, post photos or not?
And they dropped the cost of using third month salary to spend facebook?
Furthermore, the use of visa card or master card in less-developed countries as we are "rare" … many people do not even know the concept of master and visa …. so how to pay if they want to use? Is a series facebook cards to top up reasonable????
Those who have money, live in developing countries, whether they feel this is reasonable? those who have money they are mostly busy with work, less air network to join the community, just as they are free they update information or share pictures of friends …. so you an earn alot of the money or not?
Worldwide there are too many less-developed countries like my country …. facebook is a popular online community and development, if you want to collect user fees, I think you would have lost alot thing than more earn the money….
    Thanks

I agree with you. So many people cannot afford to use facebook if it is to start charging people. I believe facebook will lose a lot of people. However, people use their services religiously. So from those people to charge would be great for the company for a few months. Up until the users are looking at the money spent on the site every month. They will look for another social site. I can almost guarantee that.

I can't afford an additional $100 plus a month – wow just when ya think you heard it all – along comes some fat CEO's who are just delighted that facebook will be charging a user fee. Nice one!!!

  18. Shelly says:

If they charge, there's no way in hell I will keep mine, they can kiss my butt, we'll all just move back to myspace or go to google +

They need to stop changing crap all the time and just leave things alone.

  19. Rose says:

Facebook has become giant collecting fees from advertisements, they already became billionaires . The move to charge visitors for a single post and friend they have is not abrilliant ideas. They will lose visitors, the most is having 1 facebook account per family with a very very inevitable texting . School children and teens will leave by parents choice and not many people socialize in facebook, they use FB as games avenue. But its better to play games in Zynga rather than continue in FB..well hmm..soon Zynga will become another giant and start charging too haha..this isn't fair

  20. Brison Brazil says:

That is all you big wig mother f*****rs care about it making money. I highly doubt millions of users quit. I guess in the billions and not only that but a sh*t load of law suits. Alot of users have paid for their facebook credits and used them for their apps. By making them pay to keep all that they paid for is bull sh*t! So you dumb a**'s sitting in your offices thinking $$$ have to think of how much $$$ you will lose when all these people who have already spent hundreds if not thousands of their hard earned money on facebook apps! You guys are going to realize what a mistake you made when your plan back fires and you all lose that $50 billion in revenue to the good hard working people who have paid for all their little bonus's on facebook when they take your ass's to court.
