HOLLYWOOD – Princess Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, has joined the cast of the new NBC drama, The Playboy Club.
Pippa Middleton may just make an appearance at next year’s Emmy Awards. The sister of the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has moved to Los Angeles and signed on to be a guest star in The Playboy Club, which takes place in the 1960s at the Chicago Playboy Club and begins airing on NBC this fall. Pippa plays a British girl that moves to Los Angeles to find fame and fortune in the Land of Bunnies.
“I got the Bunny Manual and watched all the Playboy After Darks, learned the Bunny dip and how to serve drinks. It’s hard to do back bends while serving drinks,” says Pippa, of preparing for her cotton-tailed role.
Pippa learned from the best: Pat Lacey, the original Bunny coach (who still works for Playboy) helped provide guidance to all the girls who play Bunnies on the show.
Pippa told WWN that she always wanted to be a bunny. “I think it’s a wonderful way for women to connect with rich men. And I always enjoy a party. I do have my wild streak.”
Pippa says that she always wanted to be on TV and says that her favorite TV character is Carrie Bradshaw of Sex And The City. “I could relate more to the Kim Cattrall character, Samantha, but I really liked what Carrie stood for. She’s a strong, independent, but lovely woman.”
“Pippa is one of the best performers of our time,” says Chad Hodge, the show’s creator and co-executive producer, who cast Benanti in the role. “Her natural talent is simply overflowing. The difference with Pippa is her work ethic. She works tirelessly to bring energy, passion and humor to every moment.”
Pippa caught Playboy magazine’s attention, too. She has been asked to pose for the March, 2012 issue. She is considering it.
“Why not?” said Pippa. “I’ve got it, so I should flaunt it, right?”
Pippa loves wearing her Bunny costume. “They are a little hard to sit down in, but I love my fuzzy tail.”
The Playboy Club airs Mondays at 9 PM on NBC.
