Mayan archaeologists met in Guatemala and confirmed the end date for the Mayan Prophecy is December 21, 2012. That’s when the world will end.
Archaeologists reportedly reviewed a newly discovered 1,300 year-old Maya text that provides only the second reference to the “end date” of the Maya calendar on December 21, 2012. The discovery, one of the most significant hieroglyphic find in decades, was announced at the National Palace in Guatemala. Al Gore was in attendance, representing the United States.
“This text talks about ancient prophecy,” says Marco A. Comito, Director of Tulane’s Research Institute and co-director of the excavations at the Maya ruins of La Corona. “This new evidence suggests that the 13 Bak’tun date was an important calendrical event that would have been celebrated by the ancient Maya,” says Comito.
Archaelogists from Rutgers University in New Jersey and the University of Rome went on to say that the end date for the world is clearly stated in the hieroglyphics.
“They knew how long the world would last and they were extremely confident about the apocalypse. They were much more advanced they we are today,” said Professor Katya Malley of Rutgers. ”I wouldn’t make any long-term plans. There’s no need to buy Christmas presents.”
The archaeologists gathered at “Site QQ” in Guatemala. Site QQ is the source of many looted sculptures whose whereabouts had remained a mystery until its rediscovery only fifteen years ago.
In 2012, archaeologists excavated in front of a building that had been heavily damaged nearly 40 years ago by looters looking for carved stones and tombs. “Last year, we realized that looters of a particular building had discarded some carved stones because they were too eroded to sell on the antiquities black market,” said archaeologist Tomas Barbarinto, “so we knew they found something important, but we also thought they might have missed something.”
In fact, in 2012, excavations not only recovered 10 more discarded hieroglyphic stones but also something that the looters missed entirely—an untouched step with a set of 12 exquisitely carved stones still in their original location (in total, 22 carved stones were recovered). Combined with the known looted blocks, the original staircase had a total of no less than 264 hieroglyphs, making it one of the longest ancient Maya texts known, and the longest in Guatemala.
Several archaeologists said that the discovery of newly carved stones not only have great historical importance but these new stones offer the final definitive proof that the world will end.
“There have been a lot of reports and editorials stating that the Mayan prophecy is a hoax or that the predictions will prove to be false, but almost all the predictions of the Mayans have come true. If you were a betting man, you’d bet on the world ending. I am,” said Professor Malley.

It could happen but probably wont. But i had a dream a few nights ago about something that seemed to be about a major event.The thing is i was not even aware of this Mayan calender thing when i dream t this.My dream was very clear and vivid and it seems that the end of the world event will possibly involve some kind of meteor shower.Thousands of small meteors will somehow get through the atmosphere,possibly composed of a material that wont burn up. It will last for some time and will cause major disruption to life on our planet.

It’s funny because my whole life(and I’m only just starting college this year) the world was supposed to end multiple times. 2000, 2003,6/6/06, sometime in 2010 in oct, last may in 2011 and now this because the Mayans predicted it. I’m not believing that one either because the bible says that no man knows when the end of the world will be. So NOT EVEN THE MAYANS KNOW THEY THINK THEY KNEW BUT THEY DIDNT. I've been beyond worried about this since my idiotic history teacher showed a video to us in class in 8th grade about the end of the world coming in 2 weeks. I don't think anything will happen, because Jesus says, "No man shall know the date or the hour of the Lord's return. Not the angels in Heaven, nor the Son. Only The Father." First of all, the 'World' won't end. There are certain prophecies that have to take place. The Anti-Christ has to be revealed, the Rapture, Tribulation, etc. I'm nervous about it, yes. But I think it will be just another day. Remember, "Extraordinary claims have to have extraordinary evidence." There is none.

To be honest, not one of us knows if the world is going to end or not. So we cannot say ‘yes it will’ or ‘no it won’t', I will be interested in coming back to this post on the 21st & seeing the comments then (if we are able to comment).

Those who talk.about leap year and such, listen up. The Mayans did account for all things astronomical. They didn’t use a calendar like we do.now
Their.sense of time was based on planets, the sun, and stars and alignments of celestial bodies. Basically they were extremely accurate in their calculation of time. Far far advanced for their time, and they never set the date 12-21-12 as we look at calendar dates today. They set a 5,125 year calendar. We have calculated that using our current calendar method to come out to the Dec 21st date, and yea we included leap year and everything else. The Mayans big this is on the morning of Dec 21st the sun will rose in perfect alignment with the center of our galaxy. The dark rift they called it. We are crossing a galactic plane that morning. Think of it as an equator for the galaxy. Who knows of the strength of the black hole at the center of our galaxy is greater on the other side , thus causing disturbances in our planets field, leading to earthquakes major volcanic eruptions or tsunamis on a scale we have never wit eased. Maybe nothing will happen, but nobody knows for sure. Humans didn’t exist last time the earth was on that side of the galaxy and history does show major climate changes pccured on earth due to unknown reasons. I guess we’ll all find out very soon…..
