Mayan archaeologists met in Guatemala and confirmed the end date for the Mayan Prophecy is December 21, 2012.  That’s when the world will end.
Archaeologists reportedly reviewed a newly discovered 1,300 year-old Maya text that provides only the second reference to the “end date” of the Maya calendar on December 21, 2012.  The discovery, one of the most significant hieroglyphic find in decades, was announced at the National Palace in Guatemala.  Al Gore was in attendance, representing the United States.

“This text talks about ancient prophecy,” says Marco A. Comito, Director of Tulane’s Research Institute and co-director of the excavations at the Maya ruins of La Corona. “This new evidence suggests that the 13 Bak’tun date was an important calendrical event that would have been celebrated by the ancient Maya,” says Comito.

Archaelogists from Rutgers University in New Jersey and the University of Rome went on to say that the end date for the world is clearly stated in the hieroglyphics.
“They knew how long the world would last and they were extremely confident about the apocalypse.  They were much more advanced they we are today,” said Professor Katya Malley of Rutgers.  “I wouldn’t make any long-term plans.  There’s no need to buy Christmas presents.”

The archaeologists gathered at “Site QQ” in Guatemala.  Site QQ is the source of many looted sculptures whose whereabouts had remained a mystery until its rediscovery only fifteen years ago.
In 2012, archaeologists excavated in front of a building that had been heavily damaged nearly 40 years ago by looters looking for carved stones and tombs. “Last year, we realized that looters of a particular building had discarded some carved stones because they were too eroded to sell on the antiquities black market,” said archaeologist Tomas Barbarinto, “so we knew they found something important, but we also thought they might have missed something.”

In fact, in 2012, excavations not only recovered 10 more discarded hieroglyphic stones but also something that the looters missed entirely—an untouched step with a set of 12 exquisitely carved stones still in their original location (in total, 22 carved stones were recovered). Combined with the known looted blocks, the original staircase had a total of no less than 264 hieroglyphs, making it one of the longest ancient Maya texts known, and the longest in Guatemala.
Several archaeologists said that the discovery of newly carved stones not only have great historical importance but these new stones offer the final definitive proof that the world will end.
“There have been a lot of reports and editorials stating that the Mayan prophecy is a hoax or that the predictions will prove to be false, but almost all the predictions of the Mayans have come true.  If you were a betting man, you’d bet on the world ending.  I am,” said Professor Malley.

  37. My version of the 2012 apocalypse; if these facts are false, is all of the humans who spent the last couple of years preparing for such a disaster that say, didn't happen. Other than those who had already committed suicide to avoid it, more will die because they wasted their precious time and money. I'm not sayi g this won't happen because anything is possible. Nobody knows when the world is going to end – and archeologists have already said that they have found additional dates that go past December 21. It is a marketing ploy in some way, shape, or form. The world runs on a select people trying to control the rest of people through fear.     • hun, the Maya never predicted Hilter or WWII that was allegedly Nostradamus. (BTW, he didn't predict 2012 either. In his true quatrains, there is no mention of 2012. The only date mentioned is 3797. There are NO and I repeat, NO Maya artifacts that talk about end of times. There are, however, artifacts that mention dates beyond 2012, including the date 4772.

But i had a dream a few nights ago about something that seemed to be about a major event.The thing is i was not even aware of this Mayan calender thing when i dream t this.My dream was very clear and vivid and it seems that the end of the world event will possibly involve some kind of meteor shower.Thousands of small meteors will somehow get through the atmosphere,possibly composed of a material that wont burn up. It will last for some time and will cause major disruption to life on our planet.
    Its most likely i just had a dream but i dont dream things like that really,which made think but.

I'm not believing that one either because the bible says that no man knows when the end of the world will be. So NOT EVEN THE MAYANS KNOW THEY THINK THEY KNEW BUT THEY DIDNT.   119. I've been beyond worried about this since my idiotic history teacher showed a video to us in class in 8th grade about the end of the world coming in 2 weeks. I don't think anything will happen, because Jesus says, "No man shall know the date or the hour of the Lord's return. Not the angels in Heaven, nor the Son. Only The Father." First of all, the 'World' won't end. There are certain prophecies that have to take place. The Anti-Christ has to be revealed, the Rapture, Tribulation, etc. I'm nervous about it, yes. But I think it will be just another day. Remember, "Extraordinary claims have to have extraordinary evidence." There is none.

  123. Those who talk.about leap year and such, listen up. The Mayans did account for all things astronomical. They didn't use a calendar like we do.now
    Their.sense of time was based on planets, the sun, and stars and alignments of celestial bodies. Basically they were extremely accurate in their calculation of time. Far far advanced for their time, and they never set the date 12-21-12 as we look at calendar dates today. They set a 5,125 year calendar. We have calculated that using our current calendar method to come out to the Dec 21st date, and yea we included leap year and everything else. The Mayans big this is on the morning of Dec 21st the sun will rose in perfect alignment with the center of our galaxy. The dark rift they called it. We are crossing a galactic plane that morning. Think of it as an equator for the galaxy. Who knows of the strength of the black hole at the center of our galaxy is greater on the other side , thus causing disturbances in our planets field, leading to earthquakes major volcanic eruptions or tsunamis on a scale we have never wit eased. Maybe nothing will happen, but nobody knows for sure. Humans didn't exist last time the earth was on that side of the galaxy and history does show major climate changes pccured on earth due to unknown reasons. I guess we'll all find out very soon…..

Everything is created by something and God is that something that created us. I believe no one but God will know when the world will end. I also believe it will never end, it would be like killing your child. And God is not hateful, God is forgiving and loving. If more people would believe this there wouldn't be such nonsense of the world ending. I have a miracle child , he died at birth they revived him, but he had brain damage and was paralyzed on his whole right side and had seizures. So many family members who belonged to different church's prayed for him. In 7 days he began to recover and let him come home. In 18 months the Dr's called him the Miracle child. He is 28 now and has the mind of a genius and played college football and lacrosse. There is a God and he would not destroy us. Plain and simple.

To all you people who don't think before u speak there's a little thing called time zones so at no one point will the entire world be at December 21. Meaning if this were to be true in what area would the date have to be December 21 for the world to end . Also occurring the 21 of this month will be the winter solstice of 2012 marking the first official day of winter. During the winter solstice we will only experience 9 hours of daylight which is why this was the date chosen. I hope my comment served as a great help to those who fear we are in grave danger .   216. Look people it's this simple, the Mayan long calendar starts over on 12-21-12. It doesn't end. No calendar ends, they just cycle through. There is no Mayan text that mentions the end or beginning of anything. When your calendar ran out of pages in 2011, what did you do? You went and bought a calendar for 2012. When it runs out of pages on the 31st your going to go buy a new one. This long count calendar was used to track the suns revolutions around the milky way. As well as the alignment of planets. There is no mythological, biblical, or scientific proof that the world will end on 12-21-12. Any anybody can find as many combinations to this number as they want, I don't care if you can get 666 from 12-21-12 that doesn't mean anything.

The number equated to 5125.36 Gregorian years including leap years. But give them credit, the did end it on the December solstice

People who say it won't are 1) being ignorant and 2) not actually thinking about how there is a possibility every day the world may end, and the risk is higher on that day. Would the prophecy have lived this long if it wasn't based upon serious findings? It is also the winter solstice, another 'evil' day. Would all these alledged "Myths" have lived on until now if they are not wedged with truth, even if just a bit?
    There was also someone who studied the bible for 10 years who announced the rapture's start in May. Coincidence?

  291. December 21st 2012 will be a very special day. It is my sisters Birthday and we will celerbrate as we have for many years. I do think the Mayan callender stopped around this time but I beleive this was because they knew that the celestial bodies had gone full circle and the callender would repeat. What I struggle with about Nibiru is its position in relation to our solar system. Some say it circles outside the orbit of our known planets, others say it will venture as close to earth as the Asteroid belt, then again we have the accounts of it impacting earth. In my oppinion logic says that if Nibiru was on its way in the effect on the earth would be far greater at this point in time. So if Nibiru does exist and it is destined to cross our solar system, the event will not be 21/12/2012 but sometime in the future. Finger in the Air, how about 2014.

  326. I did think about your arguments for the prophecy being correct. They are very weak. How many days has the world existed? One who forecasts that it will end on a given day or even a given year has a very small chance of being correct unless there are some given facts for it happening. To begin with there is no proof of any world disastrous phenomenum being forecasted many years in advance unless it is caused by man himself, like the bombing of a city. Maybe a god could plan a world ending happening, but we have no proof of the existence of gods. And I hope if a god is responsible for our earth, he would act like one and let the people of this world run their own lives and certainly not end it in a devilish manner. Further, consider all the other world ending forecasts. None of them happened of course.

Birds falling from the sky with apprently no reason, the fish, whales and dolphins that have died or beached themselves…The number of floods that have plagued countries around the world… And also, when you think about it, an economy collapse of the world as well? The number of large earthquakes around the world – Japan's especially which actually caused the Earth to actually shift on its axis (confirmed by scentists I'm told). Then you have the number of enormous storms and tornados and twisters that have plagued certain parts of the world, especially america which I've come to understand actually suffered as many as 24 in one day. You have the solar flares that have become bigger and bigger, to the point where scientist believe it may have been the cause of that strange sound/noise that came from the sky/atmosphere all around the world.

    The end of the world has been predicted by hundereds if not thousands of years and all of them have been false but the thing about the Mayan's as stated in the article above they were much more advanced than we give them credit. Also majority if not all events they predicted have come true; May not in the way we would have expected though.
    There is a reason why the Mayan's disappeared without a trace (if they had been killed there obviously would be evidence).

    When you get a calendar do you purchase one for the year your in as well as one for the following year, or do you only purchase one for the current year?
    I am going to put my money on the later of the two. Now if you had a calendar that spanned a time frame of 5,000 years (just an example, I'm not 100% sure what the exact time frame of the Mayan calendar is), would you care about making another calendar when your still over a few hundred years away from the end of the current calendar.
    Sometimes a simple explanation suffices. Rather then end of days; 12/21/2012 is just New Years Eve for the Mayans.. Stop trying to incorporate your crazy religious beliefs onto a society that is gone and can't smack you up side the head for being stupid.

  437. if the world was going to end it would have ended months ago……the mayan calender did not include leap years so if i am correct the world would have ended between 6-9 months ago………….now b4 i heard about all this i watched a programme about CONFIRMING ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!…..i do believe it will happen 1 day but not in our lifetime………….there is quite alot of ppl out there that r really scared they wont sleep eat etc…its not the mayen calender going to kill mankind its the depression and worry about all this……as david morrison from nasa said there have been a few ppl ended there life's because of this!!

    • FYI- The Mayans had a year calculated to 365.242036 days by their calendar, which is slightly more accurate than the 365.2425 days of the Gregorian calendar.
      Don't believe every made for Facebook image post you see. (If that were the case the Mayan calendar would have ended slightly more that 4.27 years ago not 6-9 months)
      And the end of the calendar is the end of an "age" (5,125 years, 134 days, 13 hours, 34 minutes, 19.2 seconds), not necessarily the end of the world.
      Though people have been predicting the end of the world throughout civilization, and yet none of them have been right.

This date is the end of the Mayan long-count period but then — just as your calendar begins again on January 1 — another long-count period begins for the Mayan calendar.

All these "so-Called" scientist, archaeologist and writers who think they know things need to go jump off a cliff so theres more room for the rest of us. The only thing we should be afraid of is overcrowding and not enough crops or food for everyone. The universe or Earth or whatever God you believe in has a plan. A way to control population, disease, famine, war, etc… Nothing is ever certain and dont take what you have for granted and when you wake up tomorrow and your still breathing…go find a loved one and tell them how much you love them. if your so worried about the world ending maybe you should change your lifestyle a little bit and quit sinning so often. There it is and thats what is was and is gonna be…TRUTH!!!
