ALEX HERRMANN'S PERFECT BRACKET

CHICAGO, IL – Through all the madness of March, there was actually a perfect bracket out there. Until Yesterday!
Last night’s slew of games were no different to the trend of games this year. Mid majors were hanging with the big boys and overtime thrillers had you at the edge of your seat. Butler beat Syracuse and it busted many brackets, including the last perfect bracket standing.
Alex Herrmann is a 17-year-old autistic teen that lives outside of Chicago. Northern Iowa beating number one Kansas was a shock to everyone but him because he picked them. He picked Ohio over Georgetown, Cornell to the Sweet 16, and every other matchup correctly for the first two rounds.
According to BookofOdds.com, the odds of picking the first two rounds perfectly were one in 13,460,000.
“I’m kind of good at math,” Herrmann told nbcchicago.com, “and at stats I see on TV during the game.”
Herrmann and five of his family members entered brackets in cbssports.com’s Bracket Manager tournament, which does not offer prizes for the best brackets and does allow the manager of a bracket to change a pick after play has began. Herrmann’s family swears that he made no changes to his bracket.
To put it into perspective, 5.4 million people entered brackets with ESPN and no one had a perfect bracket through the first two rounds. Unfortunately his perfect bracket collapsed last night with Syracuse’s loss, but it was only a matter of time before he faltered according to experts. He had Purdue beating Kansas State in the final, two teams considered huge underdogs.
