BOSTON, MA – Rick Santelli plans to throw the world’s most expensive Tea Party to protest of the Stimulus Plan, serving hundred dollar bills steeped in hot water!
Santelli is an arch-conservative CNBC reporter, who has received a lot of media coverage over the last week for an on-air rant decrying government spending and waste embodied, he says, by the passing of the recent stimulus bill.
His new organization, The New American Tea Party, acting like an umbrella organization encompassing several fiscally conservative political watch and advocacy groups, aims at undermining the stimulus by preventing the funds from reaching their assigned targets.
“There is so much pork in this bill it would give the healthiest man a heart attack!” Santelli bellowed on CNBC. “Millions here for the arts. Millions there for roads. What’s a couple hundred million for unemployment benefits?! Sure, why not? Lets encourage people not to get jobs. Let’s just give them more taxpayer money to not work and not pay taxes which would go to someone else who is not working!”
“It’s lunacy!”
Santelli’s organization is working closely with conservative lawmakers, specifically governors and state legislators who will most directly receive stimulus funds.
“We’ve already had somewhere in the ballpark of 50 million dollars of stimulus money pledged by local lawmakers for use in the tea party,” Santelli says in a blog posting on the groups website.
“Rather than that money going to these ridiculous and wasteful pet projects, we are going to proverbally put it our pipes and smoke it! But rather than smoking it, we’ll be drinking it. In our tea. Literally.”
Inspired by the Boston Tea Party, which famously threw crates of tea into the Boston Harbor rather than have it sold for inflated prices and with outlandish taxes, the New American Tea Party will in fact steep hundreds of hundred dollar bills in near-boiling water.
“I’m going to drink it down and urinate it out! I plan to show that the stimulus money will be as effective at stimulating the economy as my urine will be to stimulate my lawn. Which is un-stimulating! It will kill my lawn! And the stimulus will kill the economy!”
So, why isn't everyone sending a tea bag to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in silent protest? Everyone talks, no one participates!

Today we began to find out 2 trillions of dollars have been given to banks and corporation with no oversite and transparency. Out of that 2 trillion dollar how much will you fellow citizen will be paying for someone's lexus, pool, grante counter tops, vacations and house. Doesn't this make for real change you can beleive. The change we can beleive is we have been screwed and tatooed to the wall. Don't forget to mail tea labels to the Mr. Commander in Chief or is it the decider or Mr. Goodwench in Chief Maybe the King of the World. With this great leadership the banks can charge all kinds of fees, raise you interset rate and most of all they sign you for a 130.00 fee to join a home shopping group. Folks this was done by Bank of America and call got a little ruff with them they did like my dislike of them stealing from me. Can you imagine that!! I wonder who else they wanted to swindle money out of. We don't have jobs created from all this 2 trillions being spent. THIS CHANGE YOU CAN BELEIVE IN WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where were all of you "don't spend a dime of my money"-ers when we were pouring billions into Iraq with ZERO oversight? Where were you when we you when the Bush administration was cutting taxes and spending money on 2 wars, state-sponsorted terrorism, funding the whole-sale destruction of our rights, and scaring the crap out of you so you didn't question it?
I know where you were, you were calling people like us "terrorists' and "america haters". You don't like this plan, fine, voice your opinion. All this revolution talk is nonsense and you know it. Your side lost in a democracy, now stop whining and try to make the world a better place.
While I appreciate the leadership and stepping forwared of media types – real Americans need to be stepping up to the plate and organizing the movement. It needs to be a movement of substance not of hype.
Have any of you actually sent Tea Bags to the White House? I saw that as one of the ideas on another website but I do not think that will work. I did find this site called http://www.sendteacard.com that sends a postcard with tea bags on it and what I thought was a great message. On the back it says we are Mad as Hell about what Washington is doing with OUR money! You even have a choice of the top 7 people in Washington to send it to. Any thoughts on this? Can this be effective? I heard about the recent Red Envelope Project that dumped 2.25 Million cards to the White House Mail Room a week or so ago, could this be an even bigger movement? I sent 2 cards to each of the 7 choices, If I am going to spend money (taxes), I at least want them to know I am Mad as Hell they are doing it.
I heard Obama has had a change of heart. He's going to stop all tis wasteful spending and bailouts. Instead he's going to give a huge tax cut to the wealthy. He's hoping they will be so relieved and happy, that they'll just give everybody their jobs back. What a guy!

The tea party here in N.M. was a great success, as it was all over the country. But whats next? I sure hope there's more to come. The country needs to hear from us. Right now the Libs are laughing at us.

I work 90 hours a week for less that minimumwage supporting two kids..with no child support or health coverage. I'm an independant contractor because I can't secure full time work in a saturated market even with 20 years experience and a Masters degree….and by the way can you send some tea here? I need more caffeine to stay awake now that starbucks is in need of a bailout too…..jesus said teach a man to fish…i believe.

Well where was this Tea Party when the little prince was in effect, surely you recognize that all Pres. Obama has done is try to dig us out form under what was leftover from eight years of irresponsible politicians, wonder why no one saw what was coming before this new administration took office.
