MIKE TYSON MAKES AWKWARD SOCCER APPEARANCE

LONDON – A former heavyweight champion seemed out of place at a soccer match!
Mike Tyson went from being on top of the world to becoming the butt of countless jokes. It seems as though nowadays, Tyson makes headlines for the wrong reasons – like making a competitive pigeon racing TV show. Regardless, Tyson showed up at a recent English soccer match to instill a few words of wisdom – and we all know he’s got plenty of wisdom to share.
Tyson made a surprise appearance at halftime of League One side Peterborough’s preseason friendly against West Ham. Tyson and soccer aren’t the best of pairings and the visit was such a surprise that it seemed as though Tyson didn’t know what was going on.
The former heavyweight champion did look very slim and healthy, as he has become a vegan. Tyson has been hanging out in England over the last few days doing a series of talks on his life and career and making a television show for American television. It seems as though Tyson wasn’t fully brought up to speed on the football team.
Tyson was in Peterborough to appear at a special “Evening With Mike Tyson” on Thursday and came on the pitch at half-time and spoke to the crowd.
Iron Mike did not make many friends, as he admitted he had not heard of their club before.
“I’ve never heard of Peterborough before but as soon as I heard it was West Ham I thought, we’ve got to really give it to them,” Tyson said.
A career as a motivational speaker doesn’t seem likely for Tyson. Peterborough lost to West Ham 2-1 – despite the former champions encouraging words.
