The New York Jets signed the first female contract in the NFL. Lauren Silberman is their new placekicker.
Silberman never kicked anything more than a soccer ball in an organized game and she just started practicing long-range field goals.
Even so, the first female kicker tried out at an NFL regional scouting combine and the coach of the Jets, Rex Ryan signed her on the spot. “She’s got great form. A great leg,”
The 28-year-old Silberman was scheduled to kick Sunday at the Jets training facility in Florham Park, N.J., but Silberman got a private kicking session with Ryan.
“He made my dreams come true,” Silberman reportedly told WWN.
In her session, she hit field goals of 30, 40, 50 and 60 yards. “She’s accurate and… she can cook. I like that,” said Ryan. He was thrilled to have her in his folds:
Jets management told WWN that Silberman will become another successful brand for the team, like Sanchez and Tebow. “She’s already doing a photo shoot with Mark and Tim. The Jets are back, baby!”
This guy was happy, too. He told WWN that Silberman was good friends with his ex-fake-girlfriend.
whatever "JWPlayer" is it is not working on Firefox 19.02, and I can NOT SEE ANY STORIES ON WWN! Sad state of affairs.
