EVERGLADES CITY, FL – A group of Florida men videotaped and caught a 750 pound mako shark!
Jamie Bunn, Danny Massa, Jeremy Huston and John Monti went swordfishing on Saturday, off of the Point Everglades Inlet. About 18 miles offshore, they noticed a dead swordfish floating in the water, being circled by a mako shark.
The men decided to lasso the dead fish and draw it up against the boat, so they could get a good look at the shark. Angry over the loss of its food, it began biting the boat’s exhaust and propellers!
After much struggle, they were able to get the shark gaffed and tied. But after almost three hours, they were unable to get it into the boat. “We realized we had a fish well north of 600 pounds when we couldn’t get it in the boat,” Bunn said.
The four men decided to just tie it to the back of the boat and tow it into the marina, where it weighed in at 748 pounds!

you should have let it alone, go out and kill real threats to people, like the world's muslims!
what a bunch of fucking idiots..killing a great animal like that for no reason at all…
Oh boy look at all the little, "I just love those Sharks," boys. What crap! If you should ever be involved in a disaster at sea, cast adrift, floating on the open ocean, just reach out and give one of those sharks a hug. Can you see past the length of your nose? Ever been outside away from your computer engaged in an activity in the outdoors? Probably not. Never been at risk, never been hungry, never have done anything worth spit, other than make observations about the world from the confines of your computer room. What bunk!
a little harsh, dont be judging people you dont even know. for all everyone else here know is that YOUR some lazy butt that never leaves his/her house looking for forms to try and strike up an argument that judging by your comment you dont know much about
Says Harry…. from his living room computer. HAHAHAHAAA!!!
Yes i agree that it is definitely wrong to kill a shark of this size or any size just for the sport. however there are MUCH bigger problem than a couple of guys going out and getting one shark. 70 million sharks are killed a year just for their fins. thats what really needs to stop. one shark from a couple ppl here and there is nothing compared to the finning industries
i think killing thing for no reason is sick every thing deserve to live bill
We are the Most Dangerous Specie in the world. We kill and destroy everything around. Who will stop us? We have to learn how to share, the world is not OURS. Love & Respect!
the bastards who killd that shark shud b shot on their ass…..
Stupid and selfish people are on the boat! They get the dead food from the shark and kills it when it turns to them…Nonsense killing! are there any laws to protect these creatures from Morons?
WTF!!!! Is it real, a living Megalodon
Why did they kill it????
Shark steaks!!! Yum Yum , Wish I had a nice shark steak to throw on the grill. Lets get real here. Most of you eat beef, pork, lamb, and don't forget your turkey celebration. I eat what i catch. Don't worry about a shark that would gladly cut your leg off .
What a bunch of assholes.
Sharks are in great trouble due to industrial longline fishing. Perhaps 90% fished out now. Thats 100 million killed a year. Check out “sharkwater” THe film.
why can't you just tranqulize it or something? You don't have to kill it
poor thing
cause everyone has some tranquilizers laying around right.
Manigator could eat all 750 lounds in one sitting
If manigator and the shark got togather, it would be a draw.
I think its awesome that they could catch this thing … for all you animal lovers, let's frame this differently .. if you were in the water and didn't do anything .. well it;d still eat you
What's the 'beef',..- er, ah… meat. Hey fat heads, we are thee top predator on this world! Obviously they caught a trophy, split up and or gave away the rest. Why assume this was a senseless waste of a shark by ego-bilging morons…..How did that chicken taste yesterday? HUH!!!
yes i think they should have eat it.
This is nothing compared to the 900 pound alligator some guy just caught in South Carolina
wow, you guys are alot of cry baby's.
Great Catch!
Great Job!

I'm the same opinion as Tariq Changi. Why do we have to kill them. It is true that we eat too much fish. In some regions there are no fish or almost none left. Although the Sharks have a bad reputation, you should not kill and then eat.
So long as the shark was eaten I have no problem with it.
It’s too bad that these gentlemen, whom I am assuming is out there to enjoy what nature is offering to them, couldn’t count their blessings by watching something so rare, like a large mako feeding, that they felt killing it would be more fun.
If they would had recorded the feeding and submitted what they found, they would have been hailed in the marine community for capturing such an event. Instead, they acted like adolescent children, doing harm without even thinking of the consequences.
Yes, this is the part of human behavior that will ultimately be our undoing.
How is this even that surprising? Who cares if there is an overly large fish out there?
shark is goooooooooood eatin'!!!
