THE FLYING CAR IS HERE!

The Dutch company PAL-V announced the first flight of its “flying car”.   The City of Los Angeles immediately ordered 10,000.

The unique vehicle is called the PAL-V One, or the ‘Personal Air and Land Vehicle’, and it marks the dawn of a new era.

The LAPD was so impressed that they ordered 10,000 flying cars for their force.  ”This will give us a great advantage, and we plan to put them to use right away.   It will help us with traffic violators and of course, it’s bad news for the bad guys,” said a source inside the LAPD.

On the ground the vehicle drives like a sports car. Within minutes its rotor is unfolded and its tail is extended: then it is ready to take off thanks to the advanced gyrocopter technology.

With these successful test results it is proven that it is not only possible to build a flying car but also that it can be done within existing international rules for both flying and driving.

Having passed this important milestone the company is now inviting investors to join them in creating the future.

The first commercial production model of the PAL-V are in production and are expected in 2013.

For 100 years people have dreamed of a flying car, and many attempts have been made to realize this dream, but now it has truly become a reality.

Gyrocopters have been around for years. Popular Science used to have ads for the plans of gyrocopters in the back of their magazine for years.

Heh, that does look pretty spiffy. The helicopter design does mesh quite well together with a car's. Anyway, that flying car also reminds me of the cars they have in the Jetsons. The overall shape kind of looks like a prototype, I mean.

The car's actually a little cute. I'll be looking forward to the day when cars like that will be the staple of sydney auto auctions.

If that gets commercially released, I can already imagine the custom car kits that would go along with it. Honestly, I'll be keeping an eye on this website here just in case.

Looks like we'll be saying goodbye to rush hour traffic soon enough. I wonder how much one of these will go for though.
