POPE FALLS ASLEEP

MALTA – A very important religious figure seemed to have had a very bad night’s sleep!
In the capital city of Valleta, tens of thousands of people gathered for an outdoor mass. Pope Benedict XVI took a few moments to rest his eyes and nodded off in front of the crowd.
“It was just for a few seconds,” said an onlooker. “He slumped forward onto his chest.”
The Pope, who turned 83 on Friday, spent only 26 hours in Malta as he flew in on Saturday. Regardless of how long he spent in the country, Pope Benedict was a busy man. The momentary visit to nap time may have been a combination of his age and busy schedule.
Bishop Guido Marini was forced to poke him and wake him.

  1. Big deal, President Harry Truman was noted for his 10 minute power naps, that he religiously believed in, and took every day. He was practically half the age of our Pope.
The secular have nthing better to do?

  2. Leave His Holiness Pope Benedict alone.  He is 83 yrs old and is still carrying the cross that was bestowed upon him.  Inspite of his age, he is committed to doing everything that a true leader of our catholic church needs to do.    Aside from travelling, he has daily activities that he needs to perform in the vatican.  His retreats in Castel Gandolfo are spent writing his ecclesiasticals.  What more do we want????  More power to you Pope Benedict!!!  Viva il Papa!!
