NEW MEXICO WOMENS SOCCER

PROVO, UT – The New Mexico University Women’s soccer team may have lost the game, but won some street cred!
New Mexico University played against Brigham Young University’s Cougars in the 2009 MWC Women’s Soccer Tournament. BYU barely won with a 1-0 score, especially after being brutalized by the New Mexico players!
Surprisingly, NMU only received one yellow card. Take a look below for why they should have gotten plenty more:

  1. Who is this #15 on the University of New Mexico women's soccer? She truly needs some anger management classes. I'm sure her grandparents are embrassed by their granddaughters behavior. Feel real sorry for her parents, I'm sure she wasn't raised with such un-sportsman like conduct. She needs to be reprimanded for this behavior!!!! Is she really a human? Truly an American? I beg to differ!!!!

  2. I love women's soccer and was amazed how out of control the University of New Mexico played. I blame the coach. He obviously condoned what was going on and then never did anything to pull his player out or try and manage his club. VERY DANGEROUS – I ONLY HOPE HIS TECHNIQUES ARE NOT TAUGHT IN PRACTICE – dirty soccer!

  3. Everyone should bombard UNM to complain. Not only should Elizabeth never be allowed on the pitch again after such violent behavior, but head coach Kit Vela should also be suspended. There could be no way a coach wouldn't have knowledge of such a temperament or have seen of this. Plus, someone needs to give the center and A/R's some glasses or suspend them as well. How could they have not seen this sooner???

  4. The Olympic soccer player Foudy suggested that this is how it goes in soccer – awesome. The fun of watching any sport at any level is the opportunity to catch great, sucky, noble, and in this case ugly plays/displays of sport and human interaction – I might watch more obscure sports now.

  5. NMU? New Mexico University? Where the hell is that? I think the reporter dropped the "soccer" ball on this one. Is it UNM (University of New Mexico) or is it New Mexico State? Come on, Allie Pruitt! Get yer facts straight!

  6. Well i think Elizabeth was just playing hard for her team. Eventhough she made some britual plays she stood up for her self, and New Mexico club by trying to help win the game. Its kind of not her faught, it is the refs fought for letting the game get out of hand. You never know what the ever player did, or said to her earlier through out the game.

  7. I have played in upper level clubs, high school and college soccer. If I did anything like this, my coach would pull me out instantly and give me an ear full, kick my butt and let me sit out the rest of the game and probably suspend me from playing for good. The coach is well aware of what is going on the field from the time the clock is started. NM coach should be fired for now taking care of the situation earlier in the game when it happened. That will prevent Elizabeth to do any further damage to the team and school…. Bad coach, bad player and bring bad name to the team and university. You can play aggressive but must keep your cool.

  8. Darrin, you gotta be kidding me. She's freaking dirty, as dirty as they get, and an ugly blot on the game. The refs stunk, but what we witnessed there was a girl without a conscience… a person with no idea whatsoever of right vs wrong. I'd can her butt from ANY other NCAA play and suspend her coach to boot, because that stuff doesn't happen overnight and it doesn't happen without coaches' awareness. What a joke of an NCAA athlete.

  9. Darrin, you had better wake up pal. I accept hard tackles in the box on a break away in the 4th quarter and a shirt pull or two, but the program needs help and the school needs help if this is how they build leaders. This women needs help and the women's soccer program should be forced to sit out a year.
