ROBOT TO EXPLORE GREAT PYRAMID OF GIZA

EGYPT – Scientists are looking to uncover any mysteries that the Great Pyramid at Giza may house!
The Great Pyramid in Giza, Egypt is 4500 years old and has sparked the imagination of millions of individuals. The pyramid is said to house a number of mysteries which have sparked the intrigue of civilizations since 2560BC. Scientists are done wondering and they are going in – so to speak. A futuristic robot will hopefully uncover any mysteries within the pyramid.
There is a second door that was discovered in 2002, that has peaked interest.
“The second door is unlike the first. It looks as if it is screening or covering something,” claims Dr. Zahi Hawass, head of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities.
A robotics team from Leeds University will send one of its inventions into the Egyptian structure to explore a tunnel that no human has been able to breach. It is blocked by that second door, composed of limestone, that has successfully kept out curious minds. There is great feeling that the door is hiding something.
The robot will be able to drill through the door and take a peek at the beyond – for a building built for the beyond. The robot is being built and should embark on its journey by the end of the year.
“We will carry on until we find the answer. We hope to get all the data possible which will be sufficient to answer the questions,” said Dr. Robert Richardson, of Leeds University School of Mechanical Engineering.
It is time to spark your imagination. Who knows what could be behind that door – it could be everything or it could be nothing. The suspense will certainly begin to build as the date of discovery approaches.
