HULK HOGAN SUES POST CEREALS

NEW YORK, NY – One iconic wrestler is not happy with a popular cereal’s commercial!
“Watcha gonna do when the Hulkster runs wild on You?” Post Cereal is going to find out as Hulk Hogan is suing the company over their Cocoa Pebbles commercial. He noticed that the villain in their recent commercial bears a striking resemblance to his own iconic character.
The commercial stars the chocolate cereal’s animated mascots from “The Flintstones” going up against said competitor, which the lawsuit says goes by the name of “Hulk Boulder.” According to a Tampa Tribune report, Hogan contends he used the name “Hulk Boulder” early in his career before wrestling promoter Vince McMahon decided he should have an Irish name.
In the commercial, called “Cocoa Smashdown,” Boulder is depicted with Hogan’s trademark yellow-blond hair and handlebar mustache. Boulder is conquered by Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm, and falls to “little pieces” in the ring.
The lawsuit goes on to say that Post Foods never sought or received Hogan’s permission to use his likeness to promote the cereal. Hogan says he raised his objections with Post in August, but the ads continued. The ultimate Hulkamaniac contends he has been harmed by, among other things, “the unauthorized and degrading depictions in the Cocoa Smashdown advertisements.”
If you go onto Hogan’s Wikipedia page, “Terry Boulder” was one of his early stage names, but there is no mention of “Hulk Boulder.”
