HOWARD STERN AND LARRY KING FEUD

NEW YORK, NY – Howard Stern and Larry King are not playing nice!
Larry King is going for a triple play of his own in the last month – he announced he’s retiring from his CNN job, his marriage is on the brink of falling apart and now he’s engaging in a war of words with Howard Stern. King, the fabled CNN talk-show host, trashed the shock jock in an interview published last week in Steppin’ Out magazine.
Steppin’ Out columnist Chaunce Hayden asked the suspendered host if Stern would make a good replacement for him when he steps down from his talk show.
“No, I wouldn’t want to be compared to Howard Stern,” King said. “He’s not tasteful at all. You go to the least common denominator and that’s Howard Stern.”
King polished off his interview with: “I regard Howard Stern as worthless.”
Stern had been on vacation and was less than pleased to find out about King’s comments.
“It’s alleged he was banging his wife’s sister and he’s saying that I’m tasteless?” Stern said. “He’s a frog … an imp and he’s the luckiest man in show business.”
Stern did not stop there. He took it upon himself to summarize the career of King.
“Larry King did overnight radio. He got no ratings. He moved to CNN,” Stern said. “where he had no competition. As soon as MSNBC and Fox News gave him a little bit of competition, the cards folded.”
Stern said he has no plans to take over King’s show but were the job his, he told Gatecrasher, “I would do everything that Larry doesn’t do because Larry’s a loser and he lost his entire audience.”
“Let’s be honest, he didn’t retire willingly. The man had one foot in the grave. It’s obvious, he is no longer relevant.”
King may have gotten the first punch in, but it seems as though Stern has gotten the second, third and fourth punch in. King has not commented on Stern’s tirade. We’ll have to wait for the next chapter in this feud.
