MORGANTOWN, WV – A Pittsburgh Panthers assistant got more than he asked for in last night’s game!
A matchup of collegiate powerhouses turned ugly towards the end of the game. West Virginia was taking on Pittsburgh on its home court, when fans started to get restless as a commanding lead started to slip away.
Mountaineers became unruly and resorted to yelling profanities and throwing objects onto the court. In one instance, a projectile penny struck one of the assistant coaches for the Panthers. Such actions were seen as juvenile and “stupid” by Coach Bob Huggins. He proceeded to grab the microphone and tell fans to point out the individuals that were throwing things. The Mountaineers cruised to an easy victory.
It goes to show that unruly fans can really take away from sports events. Such actions should not be tolerated and bystanders should speak up to avoid any future transgressions. Check out the videos below.
