LAURA ZYCH

NEW YORK, NY – The “Miracle on the Hudson” led to another miracle, as two passengers fell in love!
The “Miracle on the Hudson” was the frightening plane landing on January 15, 2009. A commercial flight, US Airways Flight 1549, hit a flock of geese upon takeoff. With the engines useless, Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger successfully landed the plane in the Hudson River.
Two passengers from that fateful flight, although taken away on different rescue boats, met at the 60 Minutes reunion for all of the passengers. Ben Bostic had in fact noticed the pretty Laura Zych before they boarded the original flight, but had not spoken to her until the reunion.
They hung out in July at another passengers’ home in July, and ended up talking until 6AM! Bostic had left earlier for another event, but decided to come back to see Zych. “I had to work the next day. And I didn’t care! At that time, that’s exactly what I wanted to do.”
On sleeping over, Bostic simply said, “I didn’t think of it until the next day, but it was the second time I crashed.” They have been together ever since!
Like the other survivors, the two try to celebrate life as much as possible. They have developed the routine of dancing to their favorite music every night before they go to sleep. “We do that as part of our decompressing and loving life,” said Zych. “Just so that your day ends on a good note.”
