He thought all religions were the works of fallible humans and not divine in any manner and he was correct. Religion was invented by man so Man created God, not the other way around. It is very convenient to be a "Believer" as anyone can "believe" whatever they wish. HOWEVER this does not mean it is necessarily so, and all of the different religions have been trying to establish themselves as the "correct" one. They are all bogus and LaVey knew this.
