TULSA, OK – One of the deadliest spiders in the world was found wandering far from home – in an Oklahoma grocery store!
An employee at the Whole Foods Market found the spider amongst some bananas on Sunday, and casually caught it in a food container. The employee had no idea what species it was until the spider was given to University of Tulsa Animal Facilities director Terry Childs. Apparently it hitched a ride on the bananas all the way from Honduras!
Check out this interview with Childs below, where he explains just how deadly the arachnid is:

wow. what else comes in on our bananas?
will the venom attack the bowels?
this spider has been know to lay its eggs in human ears too
I read that when its catching its prey, it bites them, which liquefies their insides, then the spider sucks them out. Ew! It will kill a human in about 25 minutes. Of course, this being Tulsa, we don't have the antivenom. Great.
All spiders liquify the insides of their prey.
ok i was freaked out by spiders before but now im scared of bananas to
