SONY REVEALS $100 PLAYSTATION 4

Many knew that today’s press event would reveal the Playstation 4, but many had no idea of the shocking price of the new console: a hundred bucks. The incredibly low price has caused both shouts of joy and an uproar in the gaming community.
The new console includes many of the predicted qualities — Blu-Ray drive maintained, better graphics capabilities, improved Internet connection and even a slant toward cloud-streamed gaming rather than traditional discs.
But no one had predicted that the price would be so low. The Playstation 3’s debut was met with frustration, as many were not initially willing to pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars. “We needed to do something drastic,” said Dwight Sutter, a spokesman for Sony. “And taking it down to $100 ensures that we will have a place in this market for years to come.”

The console is expected to hit shelves later in the spring. Many retailers are already putting in vast orders for the product, and the launch of a new “Grand Theft Auto” game along the release may be another boost to sales.
Already, competitors are doing damage control in order to combat Sony’s bold move. Among the moves expected from Nintendo is a dramatic drop in the price of their latest gaming console, the Wii U. Microsoft is expected to make similar decisions.
Another surprising feature of the PS4 is its ability to record onto Blu-Ray discs, which has garnered legal questions in regards to using the ability while watching Netflix and other streaming services. Weekly World News will continue to follow this story and rumors that Bat Boy will be getting his own game for the console launch.
