BOCA RATON, Fla. – ATMs in Florida are dispensing gold instead of cash!
New  ATMs  in Florida are now dispensing shiny 24-carat gold bars and coins instead of cash.  A German company has installed machines in over three hundred locations, with more planned.

Hank Malley, who works with the Gold To Go machines, says the majority of users of the gold ATMs are happy to get the gold rather than cash.  “Most people are worried that the U.S. dollar will collapse soon, so they feel safer with the gold bars,” said Malley.
A large number of people have been buying gold at pawn shops and on the internet, so this consumers and users find this an easy way to bypass the hassle of buying gold in other places.  “You can buy the gold and then go home and hide it in your house, wait for it to appreciate in value, then cash in,”  said Malley.

Shoppers insert cash or credit cards and use a computer touch-screen to choose the weight and style they want. The machine spits out the gold in a classy black box with a tamper-proof seal.
“It’s easy, it’s fast and I don’t mind carrying around gold.  I actually feel safer, because it has some weight to it and I can use it as a weapon,” said Mindy Markam of Clearwater.
Bank of America, Citigroup and Wells Fargo have looked into purchasing the Gold To Go machines and plan on installing them in cities around the country.  “I think we only need to install them in New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles and maybe Chicago, there’s not much need for gold in other parts of the country.  They can get by with the cash,” said Citigroup head Banesh Bannerjee.
So go out and… get the gold!
