SHAQ CHALLENGES JIM ROME TO A FIGHT

BOSTON, MA – One NBA superstar isn’t happy with a TV host and wants to strap on the boxing gloves!
Shaquille O’Neal isn’t the dominant force he once was in the NBA. “The Diesel” is a few years past his prime, but he is still a very large body and has a few drops left in the tank. The Boston Celtics just signed O’Neal and hope he can be an integral part  in winning another NBA championship. Jim Rome has other opinions.
The host of “Jim Rome is Burning” made some comments on his show that upset “The Big Aristotle.” Rome said that Shaq’s career was not as great as it could have been and the he “never approached the game with the dedication or discipline of Kobe Bryant,” his former teammate on the Los Angeles Lakers.
Rome took it a step further and stated that Celtics GM Danny Ainge made a mistake in signing Shaq.
“Normally, I’m on board with what Danny Ainge does, but not this time. I don’t like this move,” he said.
The man with too many nicknames did not take a liking to Rome’s comments and took to his Twitter account (THE_REAL_SHAQ) to voice his displeasure.
“Jim Rome, I am happy with my career and the legacy that I have left behind, obviously u r not happy with your legacy i 4got u have no legacy,” Shaq tweeted.
The 4-time NBA champion then laid out a challenge for the host.
“Forget the back and forth Jim Rome, I challenge you to a boxing match, live at ESPN studios, show the world you can back up the tuff talk,” he tweeted.
O’Neal stated that if Rome were to somehow beat him, he would donate his entire salary to a charity of Rome’s choice.
Rome heard the challenge, but instead of accepting he fired off a couple more jabs. “For 8 mill, maybe, but I’m not getting my face caved in for the veteran’s minimum. & you are a little out of my weight class,” he responded.
Shaq fired back by calling Rome a chicken and then linking to a video of Rome’s infamous Jim Everett debacle.
Rome seems to have put an end to the Twitter war last night. Rome tweeted “You just threw the Everett card? So tired. So easy. So boring. What happened to you? Where’s the Big Aristotle? Or MDE?”

  1. I'm rather impressed with Shaq's response. I'm rather tired of runny-nosed verbages making degrading comments about thinks they never could do. Thank- you Shaq for this and the many years of sports entertainment. Oh! and Rome…burn baby burn!!!
