JAY SHAFER'S TINY HOUSES

NEW YORK, NY – One man proves that simple is better!
Leonardo da Vinci once said “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” In today’s society, it’s hard to keep things simple, but Jay Shafer has found a way. Shafer is a walking example of da Vinci’s quote and his way of life has brought him great joy and satisfaction.
Shafer owns the Tumbleweed Tiny House Company and he has dedicated his life to perfecting tiny houses. He offers house delivery or house building plans for those who want to live large in the smallest space possible. Shafer’s initiative has fallen right in line with the growing trend of environmentally safe projects – with everyone trying to “go green.”
His expertly crafted homes appeal to nature lovers, environmentalists, and those whose finances dictate less expensive living. One great perk of purchasing one of these tiny houses is that they come equipped with wheels – so there are no restrictions to where you want to “park” your house.
Shafer’s houses come in a variety of sizes – his smallest house coming in at 65 square feet and his biggest (a three-bedroom space) at 774 square feet.
The social activist built his first tiny house for himself in the early 90’s. He has been living small ever since. Customers can buy house plans from his company and build the houses themselves. They can also buy a ready-made house and have it delivered.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Shafer is developing an idea of a small house community – with shared land, connected by walking paths, on a small piece of land. An environmentally friendly small house development would certainly be more attractive than a trailer park.

  1. I love this and it reminds me of the statement "Live simply so others may simply live. I use to work for Ringling Brothers Circus and I lived in very tiny quarters, but it was a good time. Keep up the great message and the good work.
