WORLD'S LARGEST BEAVER DAM DISCOVERED

CANADA – An incredible discovery has been made in Canada. So big that it can be seen from space!
Canadian beavers apparently don’t take days off or won’t settle for being average. The world’s largest dam has been unearthed up north, so big it can be seen from space.
The dam is located in Wood Buffalo National Park located in a remote area of Northern Alberta. Ordinary, run-of-the-mill dams usually measure 328 feet long. This particular ones measures an incredible 2,788 feet and has continued to expand over the past 35 years.
Park officials were unaware of this giant beaver creation, but environmentalist Jean Thie’s Web site informed them of the damn. Thie discovered the dam using Google Earth, but it was first discovered through satellite images back in October of 2007.
Construction of the damn most likely commenced in the mid-1970s, said Thie, who’s discovery was more of an accident. He was busy tracking the melting permafrost in Canada’s far north when he stumbled onto the beaver dam.
“A new dam would have a lot of fresh sticks,” Mike Keizer said, spokesman for the park. “This one has grasses growing on it and it’s very green.”
The dam is located in a nearly inaccessible part of the park and park rangers had to fly over the heavily forested marshlands to have a look.
They’re re-engineering the landscape,” Thie said.
