NEW HAMPSHIRE – Rick Perry continues his gafffetastic campaign.  He told an audience last night:  I hope the Easter Bunny is good to y’all.”

The audience in Portsmouth wasn’t surprised wasn’t surprised that Rick Perry confused Easter with Christmas.  They’ve gotten used to his campaign blunders.  Just the other day, Rick Perry told CNN that the Supreme Court only has 8 judges.  He retracted his statement yesterday  by reportedly saying,” We all make  mistakes, we all have our ‘oops’ moments.  I know there are ten Supre Court justices, but I don’t think I need to memorize all their names.  I can tell you this. George Bush is one of ‘em.”

An aide to Rick Perry’s campaign Rick Perry say that he always confuses Easter with Christmas because “they are so close together.”   Members of the press corps said Perry told them, “look, I made a mistake, but it’s a common error.  Jesus was born on Christmas, we all know that, but then  he rose again three days after and that’s Easter, so they are so close together it’s easy to see how somebody can make the error.   It’s a common thing.”

Here are a few other gaffes Perry reportedly made in New Hampshire:

1)  ”There are four branches of government:  Congress, The White House, The Supreme Court and the IRS.”

2)  ”Texas is our biggest state, except for Canada.  Canada is the biggest because it’s higher up there.”

3)  ”Iran and China are making deals because they’re next door neighbors.  That’s like Texas making deals with Oklahoma.  We don’t have to worry about that threat.”

4)  ”Hillary Clinton is a great American and a great Republican.  I might consider her as my Vice Presidential nominee.”

5)  ”Everyone should be able to carry guns, especially the children. They need protection.”

6)  ”I don’t believe in funding the arts.  NASA has enough money.  They don’t need to our money to pay artists to make dung sculptures.”

7)  ”I am Tim Tebow’s real father.  He’s my miracle.”

Perry ended his speech last night by saying, “Happy Christmas!” and then he sang Hava Nagila:

SPARTANBURG, SC – A day after wishing Elvis Presley “Happy Birthday” on the anniverary of his death, Michele Bachmann invited MJ to Washington.

Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) is on a roll.  She made a gaffe yesterday and wished Elvis Presley a “Happy Birthday” on the 34th anniversary of his death, and today she tried to outdo herself.

“Some people think that I don’t know much about music.  But, I not only love the two major styles of music, country and classical, but I am also very much into the music the kids are listening to today.  In fact, I think musicians can help heal the world.  That’s why I am inviting Michael Jackson to join me in Washington DC in September, so we can all come together and… change the world!”

Bachmann’s aides tried to tell her that Michael Jackson died in 2009, but the Congresswoman was on a roll.  “I’ve loved Michael Jackson since I was a little girl.  His hit “Superstition” is one of my favorite songs of all times and when he plays the harmonica, it sends shivers down my leg.  I’m just said that he’s blind.”

Bachmann then went on to talk about gay marriage:  “Gay marriage is fine with me as long as you are not a homosexual.  Homosexuals are sinners.  Boys should not be having sex with boys and girls should not be having sex with girls.  God said that.  Not me.”

The Spartanburg crowd seemed stunned by Bachmann’s speech.

“If your gay and you want to get married – go ahead.  But to me ‘gay’ means ‘happy’ – so being happy is a good reason to get married.”

Bachmann is becoming famous for redefining words.  On Fox News Sunday, she told Chris Wallace that she and her husband think the word “submissive” means “respectful”.  She also thought that the word “bigot” means “patriotic” and she defined the word “sex” to mean “get it over as quickly as possible.”

Bachmann is currently in third place in the latest poll for the Republican nomination.  She is excited to meet Michael Jackson in September and has chosen as her campaign theme song, “Man In The Mirror.”

“That’s what I am.  A man in a mirror,”  Bachmann told the crowd.

NEW HAMPSHIRE -  “Einstein” is the world’s smallest horse!

Standing just 20inches tall, the horse attracted huge media interest when he was born in April last year.

Thousands lined up at a farm in Barnstead, New Hampshire for a glimpse of him, but while human interest was high, he didn’t have many friends of his own breed.

Now his quest to find buddies and his life at home with owners Charlie Cantrell and Rachel Wagner in Gilmanton, New Hampshire, will be published in a new a book to celebrate his birthday.

‘This has been a remarkable year for us and for Einstein,’ said Mr Cantrell, 44, who bought Einstein for their small farm along with his wife Rachel.

‘We are both horse enthusiasts and we decided to get ourselves a miniature horse from the renowned breeder Judy Smith at a Miniature Horse Farm in New Hampshire.

‘Einstein is the smallest horse on record ever to survive and when the news got out to the media the level of interest was incredible.

‘The average weight of a newborn miniature horse is eighteen pounds. The average height at birth is twenty-one inches.
Einstein is all the remarkable because he shows no dwarf characteristics and is simply a very small miniature horse.
His mother Finesse stands a relatively tall 32 inches and his dad Painted Feather measures 30 inches.

‘Guinness approached us straight after the original press that surrounded Einstein,’ said Mr Cantrell.

‘He can’t be officially recognized as the smallest stallion until he is four, but we are both relatively sure that he has stopped growing.’

With the press surrounding him, it wasn’t long before Einstein did make friends – of all shapes and sizes.

Living peacefully in his own pen on his owners land, Einstein’s first birthday is something that GP Rachel and Charlie can’t wait to share.

‘He loves children and they of course love him,’ said Charlie.

‘They get wide eyed because they have never seen a horse this size before and they want to smother him.

‘However, he is so small, so hopefully the book will satisfy everyone’s desire to see Einstein and his cute and unusual life.’

WEST BURKE, NH – Gun shop sells hand gun to an eight year old.

Federal law states that a person must be at least 21 years old in order to purchase a handgun. And most states tend to have the same age limitations. However, New Hampshire, known to be one of the most liberal states in the union when it comes to gun control, has no laws restricting the age at which a person may possess and carry firearms and little specification as to how old an individual must be in order to purchase one. In addition to the vague age requirements, New Hampshire also does not require state licensing for the purchase of any rifle, shotgun or handgun.

Earlier this week, Timmy Johnson, age 8, was able to walk into and purchase this 1951 Iraqi made Tariq 9mm Beretta from Bobby Joe’s Gun Emporium with little to no problem. And the most amazing part is that he did it all by himself.

Parents groups throughout the nation are appalled by the sale. Several groups claim that this lack of regard for the safety and well-being of the nation’s youth will only increase the potential for more Columbine style massacres.

However, many New Hampshire residents see things differently.

“If we teach are kids about guns at a younger age and show them how to use them, there will surely be a decrease in deaths caused by children and guns. We need to demystify the gun for America’s youth,” said New Hampshire native, Jim Grossman.

New Hampshire gun extremists groups feel that there is nothing wrong with the sale either.

“Several countries that support terrorism are enlisting children at a younger and younger age. If we do not let our kids get their hands on guns sooner, they are never going to have the same level of experience as those micro-terrorists.”

Several rouge militia groups throughout the U.S. have also come to the defense of Bobby Joe, stating, “American children don’t even seem to know what guns are, much less how to hold them or use them. If we do not change things fast, the future of our military and our freedom is doomed.”

Bobby Joe had little to say other than this. “He said he was old enough and I agree. What the hell difference does it make? Most of the kids in this country are pansies anyway. They all need to stop being coddled by mommy after they lose a soccer game, get their hands on some guns, and defend our freedom!

KEENE, NH – A man who dressed up as Bigfoot for an art performance was kicked out of a state park!

Jonathan Doyle is a local New Hampshire artist and videographer. He, along with some other participants, dressed up as the creature Bigfoot for an art project in Monadnock State Park.

Doyle has since filed an official complaint with the state parks department after a park ranger expelled him and his group from the park! The ranger said they did not have a permit for such activities.

Doyle has joined forces with the New Hampshire Civil Liberties Union Foundation to claim a violation of his free-speech rights. The artist claims they were on a lesser-used trail and weren’t bothering other park visitors in any way.

The Division of Parks and Recreation have yet to respond.

CONCORD, NH – An Italian restaurant in New Hampshire has created the world’s largest meatball!

Matthew Mitnitsky, owner of Nonni’s Italian Eatery, decided he wanted to challenge the world record for the biggest meatball ever made.

The record as of the summer was a group in Mexico who made a 109 pound meatball. But at the end of September, that record was broken on the Jimmy Kimmel show when a 198.6 pound meatball was made.

Mitnitsky said he decided to break the record because he wanted “to bring the meatball back to the East Coast because that’s where it originated.”

On Sunday, in front of a crowd of fans and officials, Mitnitsky and his crew presented a 222.5 pound meatball! A Guinness Book of World Records official confirmed the record, and presented them with a plaque.

Stylists converged on Manchester, New Hampshire to compete for top honors and prizes ranging from $1,000 to $7,500. But the event was also about charity: all proceeds were donated to the New Hampshire Food Bank.

MANCHESTER, NH – An odd-looking cat called “Ugly Bat Boy” was revealed to the world last week. But is he related to Bat Boy in more than just name?

Ugly Bat Boy, or “Ugly” to his friends, is a bizarre cat that lives at the Exeter Veterinary Hospital in New Hampshire. He has made fans out of any visiting humans due to his bizarre appearance: he is completely bald except for long, flowing fur on his chest.

Weekly World News received an e-mail this morning from an anonymous address with the above picture attached. It appears Bat Boy snuck into the veterinary office Sunday night to meet his successor.

What the two communicated to each other will never be known, but Bat Boy took a photo of them together before fleeing the scene. He left behind drawings of the two boys frolicking through swamps hand-in-paw.

Are the two related? Is Ugly Bat Boy actually Bat Cat?

CONCORD, NH – A gay bishop has been selected to give the first invocation of President-Elect Barack Obama’s inauguration, and he is going to do it loudly and proudly!

New Hampshire Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson, a gay rights leader, will be leading a prayer at the Lincoln Memorial on Sunday. Many are speculating that he was chosen after the negative backlash over Rick Warren’s selection for the inauguration invocation.

“It is well known that I don’t care for Rick Warren,” declared Robinson. “He has perpetrated lies about the gay, lesbian and bisexual community under the guise of speaking for God.

“I know God, and I know God’s love, and He wants all of his children to love themselves just as they are. And that’s exactly what we’re going to do!”

In an effort to combat Warren’s anti-gay message, Robinson has arranged for an elaborate invocation. He will read from a bible resting on a rainbow bedazzled podium, while two Chelsea boys in hot pants will tearfully release white doves into the air. When Robinson has finished his prayer, drag queens in Michelle Obama costumes will dance across the stage, waving flags that read, “We did it!”

Robinson has not yet decided if the Gay Men’s Choir of Washington D.C. will conclude the ceremony with  “We Are Family (If the State Recognizes It)” or “Yes We Can (Eventually Get Married)”.
