GREAT FALLS, MT. – Walter Breuning, the world’s oldest man at 115, died Thursday.

His earliest memories stretched back 111 years, before home entertainment came with a twist of the radio dial. They were of his grandfather’s tales of killing Southerners in the Civil War.

Breuning was 3 and horrified: “I thought that was a hell of a thing to say.”

But the stories stuck, becoming the first building blocks into what would develop into a deceptively simple philosophy that Breuning, the world’s oldest man at 114 before he died Thursday, credited to his longevity.

Here’s the world’s oldest man’s secret to a long life:

• Embrace change, even when the change slaps you in the face. (“Every change is good.”)

• Eat two meals a day (“That’s all you need.”)

• Work as long as you can (“That money’s going to come in handy.”)

• Help others (“The more you do for others, the better shape you’re in.”)

Then there’s the hardest part. It’s a lesson Breuning said he learned from his grandfather: Accept death.

“We’re going to die. Some people are scared of dying. Never be afraid to die. Because you’re born to die,” he said.

Breuning died of natural causes in a Great Falls hospital where he had been a patient for much of April with an undisclosed illness, said Stacia Kirby, spokeswoman for the Rainbow Senior Living retirement home where Breuning lived.

He was the oldest man in the world and the second-oldest person, according to the Los Angeles-based Gerontology Research Group. Besse Cooper of Monroe, Ga. — born 26 days earlier — is the world’s oldest person.

Breuning had lived in a sparse studio apartment in the Rainbow Senior Living retirement center since 1980.When he was recognized as the world’s oldest man and brought the retirement home some notoriety, he was offered a larger room. Breuning said no, Rainbow executive director Tina Bundtrock said in October.

Breuning would spent his days in an armchair outside the Bundtrock’s office in a dark suit and tie, sitting near a framed Guinness certificate proclaiming him the world’s oldest man.

He would eat breakfast and lunch and then retire to his room in the early afternoon. He’d visit the doctor just twice a year for checkups and the only medication he would take was aspirin, Bundtrock said.

His good health was due to his strict diet of two meals a day, Breuning said.

“How many people in this country say that they can’t take the weight off?” he said. “I tell these people, I says, ‘Get on a diet and stay on it. You’ll find that you’re in much better shape, feel good.’”

He had no family left but a niece and a nephew. They visited a couple of times at the retirement home, but they were strangers to him, he said.

Breuning’s real family, his support group, was there in the Rainbow.

“Yeah, we’re all one big family, I tell you that. We all talk to each other all the time. That’s what keeps life going. You talk,” he said.

Breuning talked current affairs with the other residents. One of his main causes was to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“War never cured anything. Look at the North and South right today. They’re still fighting over the damn war. They’ll never get over that,” he said.

Along with debating others about the fate of the nation, Breuning also spent time a lot of time reflecting. Sitting in his armchair, he would reach back across the century and lose himself in a flood of memories that began with his grandfather’s Civil War stories.

He also thought about what might have been. After 97 years in Montana, Breuning said he thought back to his transfer to Great Falls back in 1913.

What course would he have gone on, how different would that century have been for him if he had stayed in Minnesota?

“Sometimes I wonder what would have happened had I not moved to Great Falls. I think about that once in a while. What would have happened?” Breuning said. “I had a good job back (in Minnesota). But life is good here too.”

But he didn’t regret anything, and he implored others to follow his philosophy.

“Everybody says your mind is the most important thing about your body. Your mind and your body. You keep both busy, and by God you’ll be here a long time,” he said.

HELENA , MT  -  Several green UFOs were spotted over Montana last night!

In the last few weeks there have been a number of sightings of UFOs across the country.  Last night, for the first time, there were several green UFOs spotted over Helena and across Montana.

“We saw these green flickering lights over the Cathedral of St. Helena last night.  We thought that maybe the church was sponsoring some light display or something, but it wasn’t.  It was real creepy.  It was definitely a UFO… definitely,” said Belinda Mills.

Some thought it was the Aurora Borealis  that they were seeing, but it wasn’t supposed to happen last night and “it was flickering for two long. The northern lights usually only last a minute, but last night that thing was up there for at least a half-an-hour,” said Aaron Staff.

Local authorities are once again denying that there was UFO over Montana last night, but UFO experts from western universities – Stanford, UCLA, and the University of Idaho have confirmed that there were at least five UFOs spotted over Montana.

“The government continues its cover-up of the UFOs.  There has clearly been an increase in UFO activity over the last five months.  Pretty soon, the government will have to make a public statement and take action to protect Americans from possible harm, even though we think the alien mission is peaceful,” said Professor John Engeman of Stanford.

“There were no UFOs.  The people of Montana were clearly seeing part of the Aurora Borealis,” said Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security.  “If there is a legitimate UFO sighting, like we saw over Virginia and Boston, we will acknowledge and take action.”

“She’s in denial,” said Engeman.  “UFO experts agree that an alien invasion is underway and its something that we predicted twenty-five years ago.   The full invasion will start in 2010 and last until December of 2012.”

BILLINGS, MT – Even if Col. George Armstrong Custer had led 10,000 men against the Sioux in the 1876 battle at the Little Big Horn, they still would have been massacred - because the cavalrymen were zapped dead in their saddled by aliens from outer space!

The spacemen – whom the Sioux looked upon as powerful gods who guided and controlled their destiny – also bathed each Indian in an invisible ray that made them invincible and unable to be killed.

Experts now believe it was those protective rays that left mysterious ultraviolet “scars” in the earth at the battle site – scars that baffled scientists and historians for more than a decade.

“These scars can only be seen through special infrared scopes,” explained archaeologist Dr. Angela Day Brewer. “I and many of my colleagues had always suspected they were caused by alien beings. Now we know for certain they were.”

The scars and the incredible role played by alien beings in the famed battle known as Custer’s Last Stand came to light when computers finally managed to decipher electronic data taken from the wreckage of a UFO that crashed near Roswell, N.M. in the mid-1950s. It has long been believed that the mangled bodies of several humanoid creatures were removed from the UFO wreckage and taken to a secret site for study.

“The U.S. government doesn’t want the public to know about the dead aliens,” declared Walter Frobel, a CIA cryptographer who  helped decipher the data. “There’s good solid evidence that the dead aliens were the same beings that actually recorded the events at the Little Big Horn,” Frobel explained.

“And of course, if they recorded the events, they more than likely were the same aliens who helped the Sioux wini the battle.

“The data reveals that the aliens made certain there were no white survivors,” Frobel said. “Custer and all of his men had to die. None could survive.” Frobel said the spacemen knew they couldn’t allow a surviving soldier to tell how some Sioux warriors couldn’t be killed even when shot at point-blank range.

“According to what we were able to decode, the aliens gave the Sioux an unbeatable advantage over Custer’s 7th Cavalry – they started zapping the soldiers dead, one after the other, with laser beams.

“It was no contest.”

The CIA agent said the beings, from a star system in a galaxy billions of light-years from our own, apparently had been overseeing and controlling the development of various North American Indians, further proving the ancient astronaut theory.

“The inhabitants from that other world may even have been involved in the development of Man ever since he appeared on Earth.”

NEAR GUAM – After Google developers introduced the new branch of Google Earth, users discovered a never before seen sea monster lurking in the images!

Released this week, the Google Ocean extension invites users to explore the oceans of our planet, with features like videos of top marine experts, travel tips and virtual tours. The feature also allows users to “dive” underwater and discover the depths of the ocean floor.

Late last night, Barney Stiles of Billings, Montana was using the program to explore the Mariana Trench when he caught sight of the creature. He quickly captured the image seen above and posted it to Google Earth’s Community message boards. “I couldn’t believe my eyes!”, he told Weekly World News in an exclusive interview. “It was a real-life sea monster!’

Google representatives stated, “We have triple-checked Mr. Stiles’ image and are convinced it is not a forgery. We are baffled but happy to announce that our technology has discovered a new species.”

Hesitant to use the word “monster”, Google is working with ocean expert Sylvia Earle on a plan to find and identify the creature. Earle explained, “I believe it may be a prehistoric eel species, a living fossil if you will, dating back to pre-historic times. Its size is truly remarkable!”

Cryptid experts believe this creature may be responsible for the famous Mariana Trench 2003 survey, when a deep-sea robotic probe disappeared without a trace. The only item recovered was the lines connecting the probe to the ship, which appeared to be viciously chewed through.  Google has not yet announced if they will be taking extra precautions for their exploration.

MISSOULA, MT – Kim Jong Il was seen performing in the most unlikeliest of places.

The Triple Deuce, a rural bar just outside Missoula, was visited by the dictator of communist North Korea last Thursday. Kim Jong Il attended the weekly open mic night, playing an acoustic set of blues and country standards with a few songs he wrote about his time on the road.

In the past few months, Korean authorities have come under fire for covering for their missing leader.  News agencies and governments have been skeptical of the military’s excuses, especially after obviously faked photos were released by North Korea’s official news agency.

Pyongyang’s Minister of Truth stated via phone, “Of course Our Dear Leader is here! He wouldn’t gallivant around the United States for months at a time and never call.  Absurd! He’s here right now!”

When asked if Weekly World News could speak to Kim, the Minister replied, “Just one moment. Dearest Leader, there’s a phone call for- Oh, sorry, he’s too busy teaching orphans to read.  That’s our Glorious Leader!” and then promptly hung up.

Kim Jong Il played a fifteen minute set including “Walk the Line” by Johnny Cash, “Friends in Low Places” by Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You”, and songs he wrote titled “Sovereign Highway Rambler” and “Lonely at the Top of Mount Paektu”.

Crowds were unsure of how to react to the singing dictator.  Receiving mostly polite applause, he held back tears as he finished his final song and walked off the stage.  After paying for his two ginger ales, he left the bar.

The American government is unsure of what Kim Jong Il may be doing here or where he is going on his tour of the United States. State Department insiders believe he may be working on a solo album.  He was last seen heading south on I-15.

That’s because owner Pete Bunyan has hired several lumberjacks to provide some security to his establishment – and he’s happy with the results thus far.
