NASA has launched the universe’s first Deep Space Atomic Clock.

The Deep Space Atomic Clock, or DSAC,  is going to revolutionize the way we conduct deep-space navigation because it enables a spacecraft to calculate its own timing and navigation data in real time. This one-way navigation technology will improve upon the current two-way system in which information is sent to Earth, requiring a ground team to calculate timing and navigation and then transmit it back to the spacecraft.

A real-time, onboard navigation capability is key to improving NASA’s capabilities for executing time critical events, such as a planetary landing or planetary “flyby,” when signal delays are too great for the ground to interact with the spacecraft during the event.

“Adopting DSAC on NASA missions will increase navigation and radio science data quantity by two to three times, improve data quality by up to 10 times and reduce mission costs by shifting toward a more flexible and extensible one-way radio navigation architecture,” said Todd Ely, principal investigator of the Deep Space Atomic Clock Technology Demonstration at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. The project is part of NASA’s Technology Demonstration Missions program, managed by the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., for NASA’s Office of the Chief Technologist in Washington.

The one-way deep space navigation enabled by DSAC uses the existing Deep Space Network more efficiently than the current two-way system, thus expanding the network’s capacity without adding any new antennas or their associated costs. This is important, since future human exploration of deep space will demand more tracking from the deep space network than can currently be delivered with the existing system.

“The Deep Space Atomic Clock flight mission will advance this laboratory-qualified technology to flight readiness and will make a practical atomic clock available to a variety of space missions,” Ely said.

Ground-based atomic clocks have long been the cornerstone of most space vehicle navigation because they provide root data necessary for precise positioning. DSAC will deliver the same stability and accuracy for spacecraft exploring the solar system. In much the same way that modern Global Positioning Systems, or GPS, use one-way signals to enable terrestrial navigation services, the Deep Space Atomic Clock will provide a similar capability in deep-space navigation — with such extreme accuracy that researchers will be required to carefully account for the effects of relativity, or the relative motion of an observer and an observed object, as impacted by gravity, space and time. Clocks in GPS-based satellite, for example, must be corrected to account for this effect, or their navigational fixes begin to drift.

The Deep Space Atomic Clock’s precision has been refined to permit drift of no more than one nanosecond in 10 days, due to the work of NASA engineers at JPL.

The updated clock is a miniature mercury-ion atomic device the DSAC team will fly as a payload on an Earth orbiter in a one-year experiment to validate its operability in space and its usefulness for one-way navigation.

NEW PALTZ, NY  -  Watch Stephen Colbert’s head get launched into space!

It didn’t make it all the way to the moon, though.  Unfortunately, Colbert’s head crashed in Connecticut.

MakerBot Industries, the manufacturer of the first affordable 3-D printer, sent a miniature model of Colbert into space — or at least up to 100,000 feet.

Recently on the Colbert Report with a tiny 3-D thermoplastic model of Colbert, MakerBot founder Bre Pettis and Colbert challenged Thingiverse users (MakerBot’s online community) to mashup Colbert’s head with other objects.

Cobert’s head appeared on a T-Rex, wearing Princess Beatrice’s recent wedding hat, and as Gumby, among others.

But MakerBot didn’t stop there.

This month they founded the MakerBot Space Program, which they inaugurated by sending Colbert’s model head into the sky on a weather balloon outfitted with a with a Flipcam and a GPS enabled cell phone.

NEW YORK – Economists from around the world gathered at the U.N. to discuss solving the global financial crisis – by fighting aliens!

The world’s top economists gathered with Dr. John Malley, the head of the U.N. Panel on Extraterrestrials, on Monday.   The economists believe that if the world comes together to defend the planet against the ongoing alien invasion – it could help save the world economy.

“We will need every available asset in the world to build weapons to combat the aliens that are already invading our planet,” said Harvard economist, Jacob Barron.  ”By going into production to fight the aliens, we will create millions and millions of jobs around the planet.  We may even approach full employment.”

“This is just like World  War II,” said Jean Blanchard, top economist from France.  ”We put people to work making weapons and that revives the economy.  It’s a Keynesian solution that always works.  AND we get to kill aliens at the same time.”

Dr. Malley has been battling “alien invasion skeptics” for the last two years.  ”There is overwhelming proof that aliens began invading earth in October 2010 and that the invasion will last until December of 2015.  The only reason it has not been made public is because governments and media have conspired to keep it from citizens, in order to keep peace.”  Malley told a room full of reporters from around the world.  ”It’s ironice, now that governments need to make it public to save the world from financial ruin, now they need to make it public.  That’s fine with me.  We need to prepare.”

Dr. Malley has repeatedly said that the aliens are primarily from Planet Zeeba, a planet just outside the Milky Way.  The U.N. Panel has been studying this invasion for the last thirty years.  The panel believes that if human beings behave properly we can coexist with the aliens on our planet.

But, Paul Krugman, a top economist and writer for the New York Times, was a guest on CNN’s “Fareed Zakaria GPS” on Sunday. S peaking with Zakaria and Harvard economist Ken Rogoff, he made the same case h noted that the effort of World War II helped end the Great Depression, and an effort to stop the aliens from Planet Zeeba will save us today.

“If we discovered that, you know, space aliens were planning to attack and we needed a massive buildup to counter the space alien threat and really inflation and budget deficits took secondary place to that, this slump would be over in 18 months,” he said. “And then if we discovered, oops, we made a mistake, there aren’t any aliens, we’d be better–”

“We need Orson Welles, is what you’re saying,” Rogoff cut in.

WWN has repeatedly confirmed (and Krugman obviously knows), there IS an alien invasion going on and the world will be forced to come together to defend its citizens against them.

What Krugman doesn’t say is that the aliens are friendly. The are coming here help the earth and its people.  But if citizens of Earth become hostile toward them they will fight back.   THUS, the need for economic stimulus to build weapons to fight them.

LANGLEY, VA -  The CIA has purchased a large fleet of Google Driverless Cars.

WWN has reporters embedded inside the offices of the Central Intelligence Agency in Langley, Virginia and can confirm that the CIA has made a large purchase of Google Driverless Cars – equipped with spy satellites and phone-tapping equipment – to be used in the United States.

WWN spoke off the record with high-ranking CIA officials who said that the Google Cars – which they consider the greatest invention of the last hundred years – will bring spying to a new level.  “Of course, we will use them in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, but we need to them immediately in the United States so that we can gather data about American citizens who are working against the will of President Obama and the Congress of the United States.”

Google recently unveiled its driverless cars after logging over 140,000 miles of testing. The technology is no longer cost prohibitive… and it will have a huge impact on the technology of traveling.

Google first developed the car for personal use because the human element is without a doubt the least predictable and most common cause of accidents. Excessive speed, distracted driving, and just plain old lack of common sense lead to more accidents than vehicular failure. Remove the human element, and replace it with a computer that can process road conditions, speed, other cars, and a million other bits of information… and you have something groundbreaking.

The Google cars use computer A.I., cameras, lasers, and GPS devices to figure out where to go, how fast to go, and where other cars are. So far Google says there has been just one accident from its fleet of  cars… when somebody else rear-ended a Google driverless car.

The C.I.A.  says the Google Cars will drive down American streets – unmanned  – and gather data on the nefarious activity of all citizens.  This data will be cross-referenced with the search data that Google is also collecting – if need be.

Google, however, does NOT have a deal to share information from its users with the CIA.  “They have to put the pieces of the puzzle together on their own.  We have tools that they can use, but we honor the privacy of all our users,” said Google’s CIO, William Bracken.

The CIA would not officially confirm or deny whether they purchased the cars, nor would they confirm or deny if they exist or not.  The CIA would not confirm or deny whether there is a sun in the sky or if there are 24 hours in the day.  The CIA would confirm that Frank Lake’s VISA card # is 45456667679090127.

HOUSTON -  NASA says that in 2013 the sun will awaken and destroy all satellites

NASA recently published a frightening report.   According to NASA astronomers, in 2013, after years of hibernation, the Sun will wake up and Earth will suffer some deadly consequences, including global failure all satellite communications.

In his report, Defense Secretary Liam Fox noted that the perfect electromagnetic storm will lead to a technogenic disaster on Earth. He cited recent statistics which indicate that the surface temperature of hot stars is rapidly increasing.

Solar storms will generate a great level of radiation that will affect the Earth’s magnetic field. This could prove to be a collapse for the humanity – trains and planes will stop, GPS-navigation will be affected, mobile and radio networks will disappear.

As Liam Fox stressed in his address, the society is too dependent on technology, and this makes it very vulnerable. Natural protectors of Earth will simply not cope with the “riot” of the Sun, which will lead to the failure of all computers. Also, due to solar activity banking system can be affected.  Astronomers fear complete chaos in world financial markets..

Failures in electric power around the world can stretch from hours to several months. However, negative consequences of this outbreak can be minimized if we prepare for the collapse in advance.

For information: solar flares are the most powerful of all manifestations of solar activity. The energy of a large solar flare reaches 1032 erg, which is approximately 100 times greater than the thermal energy that could be obtained by burning all known oil and coal reserves on Earth.

Strongest corpuscular flow perturbs the magnetic field of our planet, resulting in very fast and strong change its characteristics. Particles moving at speeds of 400-1000 km / s, reach earth’s atmosphere within a day or two. This process is called magnetic storm.

It has long been known that solar flares provoke magnetic storms on Earth. In those days, doctors ask weather-sensitive people to be careful and avoid stress, both physical and emotional, because such cosmic phenomena increase the risk of cardiac diseases. It was observed that 13% of cases of myocardial infarction occur during magnetic storms.

Typically, these storms are accompanied by disturbances of the ionosphere, which in particular leads to interruptions in radio communication. Solar flares are a frequent and quite serious phenomenon. It is accompanied by a surge of electromagnetic radiation that can cause irreparable harm to our planet.

In 2002, NASA satellite recorded a giant flare on the Sun. It caused the formation of prominence whose diameter is 30 times greater than Earth’s. Scientists said that we were lucky: there was no release of energy in the direction of our planet. Otherwise, the emission of such a force would have lead to significant distortions in the magnetic field.

In November of 2003 there was another powerful flare that brought down a Japanese communications satellite Kodama, which was first transferring clearly wrong information, and then disconnected. This ejection of stellar matter was the third largest on record. Let us see what 2013 has in store for us.

DALLAS, TX – Republican presidential nominee John McCain announced Monday he will suspend his campaign yet again in order to upgrade his cybernetic systems. Sources say he hopes to appear more passably human before the final debate.

McCain’s need for an upgrade comes as no surprise to many insiders.  During the Oct 7th debate his GPS systems were noticeably damaged, causing him to wander aimlessly for much of the evening.

Last month investigators discovered that John McCain had many of his internal organs replaced with cybernetic systems.  Doctors believe his extensive cybernetic infrastructure is the only thing giving him a one in four chance of survival for the next seven years.

Glitches in the Arizona senator’s operating system became most apparent in Dallas when he answered an economic question by engaging his loafer-jets and repeatedly flying headfirst into a wall.  After a quick reboot the senator apologized and went on to talk about tax cuts.

The McCain campaign hopes an upgrade before the Oct. 15th debates will help the senator, who has been behind in polls for weeks, appear more modern and life-like.  GOP cyborg specialist Dennis Fiorino said “Our candidate will receive the most up-to-date software for dealing with twenty-first century problems.  After his Vista upgrade, he will be the best equipped to lead our nation.”
