On Monday, March 21, 2011 the game of hockey was changed forever.
March 21, 2011, the Los Angles Kings played the Calgary Flames. Nothing in the match seemed out of the ordinary until goaltender Jonathan Quick made a save that was incomprehensible under the current laws of physics.
In the first period, Jarome Iginla of the Calgary Flames, attempted a goal from the left hand side. Quick went for the save but appeared to have missed. The puck made a beeline towards the goal when suddenly it made a sharp right turn and left the crease.
After the game was over, talk of the miraculous save was a buzz in the locker room of the Los Angels Kings. Coaches and players reviewed the tape for hours, finally concluding that Quick not only lived up to his last name but also must have some form of telekinetic powers to have performed such an awe-inspiring save.
Renowned telekinetologist, Herbert Babich, has now been hired by the Los Angles Kings to assist other players in the development of their own telekinetic powers. It is unclear how the NHL will take to this new use of the mind in this very physical game.
