JETS-COLTS GAME TO BE REPLAYED

INDIANAPOLIS – Due to a controversial play, Roger Goodell has announced that the Jet-Colts playoff game will be replayed.

Last Night the New York Jets played against the Indianapolis Colts and what a game it was. Just after an impressive 50 yard field goal by Indianapolis Colts, Adam Vinatieri, it seemed like there was little hope for the Jets. But in a typical Jets fashion for this season, Gang Green made a last minute drive down the field to win the game.

Everyone thought that tensions were high just before NY Jets; Nick Folk made his 32 yard, game winning field goal. But the stress is even higher now. During the Jets’ last minute, fourth quarter drive there was controversy over a catch made by Braylon Edwards.

With 40 seconds left in the game, it was unclear as to whether or not Edwards had complete control over the ball before fumbling it and then quickly recovering the ball for a nine yard gain. After a video review, the ruling was that Edwards had caught the ball and recovered his own fumble.

However, Colts Head Coach, Jim Caldwell, was not going to give up that easily.

In a post game interview Caldwell stated, “This play is what cost us the game. I personally do not think that the review was thorough enough and I plan to petition Roger Goodell, the Commissioner of the NFL, for a post game review of this play.”

In a ground breaking decision, Goodell agreed to do a post game review of this critical play. After several hours of laborious review, NFL officiators decided that the call during the fourth quarter gave an unfair advantage to the Jets.

As a result, the NFL has decided that last night’s game would be stricken from the record and that the Colts and Jet would have to replay the game on Monday, January 10. This type of ruling is a first in NFL history and will surely change the way that the game is played forever.
