CHICAGO, IL – If there is anything besides his dismissal that former Governor Rod Blagojevich is best known for, it is his legendary head of hair.
Blagojevich was the Governor of Illinois from 2003 to 2009, when he was convicted of federal corruption charges. His crimes were ridiculed across the media, but his hair attracted just as much attention. Late night comedians repeatedly poked fun, and SNL’s head writer Seth Meyers said of their successful 2008-2009 season: “Good old Blagojevich showed up like a White Knight with a terrible haircut.”
However, others have been inspired by his head of hair. Dennis Fath, owner of Delta Laboratories Inc., even saw profitability. “I woke up in the middle of the night with the idea,” Fath said. “He does have a nice head of hair, and [I thought] it would be funny to have something named after him because of his hair.”
He created a shampoo and conditioner called “It’s Bleep’n Golden”, the name of which parodies Blagojevich’s infamous dirty mouth. The products contain keratein and panthenol, which is used to coat the individual hairs and make them look fuller.

When asked if he thinks Blagojevich would approve of the products, Fath replied, “I understand he has a pretty good sense of humor.”
