WASHINGTON, DC – A government think tank has come up with a plan to put $10,000 cash in every family’s pocketbook… and key congressional leaders are meeting with President Barack Obama to consider it!
The exciting plan, which has been kept under wraps since it was first suggested in June, is based on the belief that giving money to every adult citizen in the country would stimulate mass spending, giving the economy a boost and creating millions of new jobs. The money would be a no-strings-attached gift, with the only condition that it must be spent on American-produced goods and services. It is believed it will bring America out of the recession, to join countries like England that are already recovering.
“They’re expecting unemployment levels to plummet as people start spending the extra money,” said a congressional source familiar with the elements of the new plan. “All sectors of the economy will have to tool up to produce durable goods and luxuries for the marketplace as consumers rush out to buy, buy buy.
“For the average American, this is going to be an incredible windfall offering substantial long-term benefits. It’s a terrifically expensive plan that will tack on about $2.2 trillion to the already swollen Federal deficit, but the experts believe we can make it all back in just a few years. They expect that once the upward economic spiral begins we will see a new era of prosperity that should last for years and years.”
The plan – dubbed the Cash Incentive Option – has already been discussed with select senators and congressmen, who appear to view the plan favorably, sources say. Even Republicans, who will fight it at the beginning, will be unable to say no to money for their state’s citizens.
“If this plan goes through – and it appears right now that it certainly will – every one of the 218 million adults in this nation will get a check for $10,000 in the mail. They’ll be able to spend the money any way they want – for vacations, as the down payment for a new house, for a new car, for clothes, anything at all.
“Yet unbelievably, this isn’t a giveaway plan. We’re expecting that every cent the government spends will be returned to the public coffers two or three times over. It’s a terrific idea and we have great hopes for it.”
A spokesman for the Obama administration refused to confirm or deny the existence of the cash award plan. However, it is expected to be announced shortly before the Labor Day weekend.

This is exactly what the American people need to get out from under this crisis, it is something myself and many others suggested to Mr. Obama late into his election campaign on his website. But, I will believe it when I see it.
OMG! First I believe this is BOGUS! However, lets pretend true… where is the 10k per person going to come from? UM, THE TAX PAYER. We are already TRILLIONS in debt. This plan would cause us to go into bankruptcy even faster. ANYONE who would want this does not understand or care what the fallout would be. OUR CHILDREN already are obligated to pay all of this debt!!!!!!!!
Without this we are already looking at 85% tax rates eventually to pay for existing debt!

The only way to end a severe recession is spend out of it, but people can't because they don't have jobs or money to spend. If we can give banks money to bailout, then we can give ourselves some help to get out of debt and buy what we need.

I am a hard worker, with numerous student loans that will take my lifetime to pay, if they all get paid in full at all. Sadly, the right will never allow this to happen, and would rather see Obama assasinated, rather than allow people that smoke crack in Detroit, to receive 10K to smoke more crack….but I could certainly use it, and I could use it to start another online business….

I am 99.99% certain that this is a bogus story. However, should it actually come to fruition, the question(s) of future debt, jump starting the economy, etc, etc, etc, would be strictly a matter of guess work. No economist on earth could safely predict what the fall out from such a program would be. Simply put, it might work or it might signal the death knell of our economy and thus our status as the most powerful nation on earth. Having said that, it appears to me that the next fifty years or so will find us transformed to a second tier nation anyhow. It was fun while it lasted.

Personally I believe in alot of things, sadly this like Santa and the Tooth Fairy, is just another fairy tale. It would be nice to see this happen for poor ppl like myself, who could honestly use the money. Like alot of ppl I have a low paying job and barely have transportation to get to it from day to day. In fact I've had to walk to and from work more times than I have driven lately. I'm proud of what I have, it's not much but I manage. What I'm saying is simply this if this were true it would be a blessing for ppl like me and eventually a curse. The way I see it though if this country is headed for the crapper anyway, I say lets have one heck of a send off, I'll gladly take the money and run with it. However, since this is a load of hooey it makes me wonder why anyone would want to write such lies in the first place?!!
