Actually, I have a B.A. in political science from Indiana University. Which I'll admit, does not hold the clout or respect that an Eastern Establishment, Ivy league school such as Harvard demands, but I'm still confident in my ability yo discern between a Globalist(i.e Dems and Reps) agenda, and the original intentions of our founding fathers political intentions. Franken believes in Globalism (i.e., global governance). The bigger problem is, so does the supposed "opposition": meaning Republicans. The problem with elitist like Franken is their belief that we, as American citizens, would be lost without their "Ivy League" hegemony.

For all of you who seem to enjoy thinking Al Franken is some kind of moronic clown, you need to check the facts. He got a degree from Harvard (do you have one .. from anywhere?). He was a writer as well as a performer and that takes some talent — were you ever on TV? (Not talking about the local news police segment.) Finally, remember that the rightwing's sainted idol, Ronald Regan, played second banana to a chimp ("Bedtime for Bonzo") and pitched Boraxo soap powder in TV commercials.

You hit the nail on the head astorian! I used to watch SNL back in the 70′s, and I thought the same thing. Whenever Franken and Davis came on to do a skit, I would leave the room until they were finished. Those two were never funny, just boring.

Back in 1976, long before I knew anything about Al Franken's politics, I was a 15 year old "Saturday Night Live" fan who'd laugh at almost anything.

But even then, I knew that it was time to turn off the TV and go to bed the second Al Franken and Tom Davis hit the screen! Even Horatio Sanz and Melanie Hutsell look at his work and wonder, "How the hell did THAT no-talent loser ever get a gig on SNL?"

I'm not sure if it was democracy that got Franken elected. Was there some "irregularities" in the recount, including hundreds of votes for Franken mysteriously found in an election official's car?

It is called Democracy Dude! The people of the great state of Minnesota have spoken and the American thing to do is to respect them and their desire for change. 4th of July will be a time of reflection this year, at least for me. The only problem I have with your article Ed is your inaccuracy. Al Franken isn't a communist, he's a globalist, and believe it or not, there is a difference, albeit a small one.
