HOLLYWOOD, CA – Following an unsuccessful attempt to win The Biggest Loser, Tonya, the World’s Fattest Cat, made an appearance on Deal or No Deal.
Having been a contestant on The Biggest Loser prevented Tonya from actually competing on Deal or No Deal, but the game show, wanting to capitalize on her fame, asked the rotund feline to guest star as one of the shows famed suitcase holders.
Kate Vench of Toledo, Ohio was the night’s contestant. She told host Howie Mandel early on that she had a good feeling about Tonya’s suitcase and would hang on to it until the late rounds.
Unfortunately for Vench, Tonya had other plans for suitcase number 9. After twenty minutes of game play and only six suitcases remaining, Tonya actually ate her suitcase.
“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” Vench told reporters outside the NBC studio where the show is taped, “I just saw my future disappear down that giant throat of hers.”
When it was revealed that Tonya’s suitcase did in fact hold the $100,000 grand prize, Mandel caught Vench as she fainted.
“It was quite an exciting episode. I’m not too sure we’ll have Tonya back, but with those ratings and views on YouTube, I wouldn’t be surprised if you saw her again. You’ll have to tune in,” Mandel said with a wink.
