DRY RIDGE, KY – The world’s smallest mother is soon expecting her third child!
Stacey Herald, 35, is only 2 feet and 4 inches tall. Although she seems much too small for it to be biologically possible, she is 30 weeks pregnant with her third child!
Herald had been told by doctors in the past that a baby would grow too big inside her frame and eventually crush her organs, but she proved them wrong.
“They all told me that I would die. They begged me not to have a baby. Even my mother said,’ You know you won’t survive right?’” said Herald. “I told her: ‘It’s a miracle that I am here, that I have life, why couldn’t this be a miracle too?’”
Both daughters were born via caesarean section, but only her first daughter inherited Herald’s condition, osteogenesis imperfecta, which causes brittle bones and underdeveloped lungs. Herald is now preparing for her third C-section, as the baby is already half her size!
Although Herald admits to being extremely uncomfortable, she said, “We didn’t plan to have more than two kids, we just think that they’re a great gift to the world, and when I look at them I see Will and I feel so full of love, it’s tough not to want more.”

Why, with all it's complications, would a parent want to pass on osteogenesis imperfecta to a child? I do believe in infinite wisdom, but apparently these parents haven't been touched by it.

First, I think it's totally irresponsible to have children when you have known health problems, in this case also disfiguration, that can be passed to the next generation. Second, people seem to keep implying that God somehow approves of this. Well, I have to ask, "didn't God make animals smart enough to kill or neglect (to the point of death) their young if there's something physically or mentally wrong with them"? Doesn't this mean…They are not supposed to live, and they are definately NOT supposed to reproduce? Third, I find this whole story so completely disturbing that it makes me sick thinking about it. Oh yeah, finally, "thanks" for being so irresponsible that you've already brought one mutated child into the world for your own selfish reasons. I guess now your going for "two out of three"?

ok, i totally get and support your choice to risk your life for the first child. But you have 2 kids and are riskig YOUR ABILITY TO BE THERE FOR THEM. They deserve a Mom who doesn't risk her abilityto take care of them. I hope it all goes well and your husband does not have to be a single parent.
