OBAMA GETS BEST ACTOR NOD

President Obama has been nominated for an Oscar for his performance as President.  He wanted to be nominated in same year as Lincoln.
In a unusual move, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, has nominated Barack Obama in the Best Actor category.  The academy said that this was an “honorary” nomination in response to a request by the White House.   President Obama feels that he is just like Abraham Lincoln and in a year that “Lincoln” is nominated for the most awards, the President feels that it would be appropriate if he and “Lincoln” won awards in the same year.

Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone unveiled the nominations for the 85th Annual Academy Awards at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. MacFarlane, who will host the Oscar ceremony Feb. 24, is only the second Oscar host to take part in the nominations announcements

The White House said that the President is thrilled to be nominated and is confident that he will win.  “He won the Nobel Peace Prize within weeks of becoming President, so winning an Oscar should be a snap,”  White House Press Secretary, Jay Carney told WWN.
The Oscar ceremonies will be broadcast live by ABC from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
