Mitt Romney is one of two lucky ticket holders to win the largest Powerball jackpot drawing ever!
One of the winning tickets was sold at a Trex Mart convenience store in Dearborn, Mo., about 35 miles north of Kansas City, the state lottery commission said in a news release. Arizona lottery officials said the ticket was sold at a 4 Sons Food Store in Fountain Hills, in suburban Phoenix.
And that ticket in Phoenix was sold to Mitt Romney – even though the former Governor says he hasn’t been in the state in four months. But, hey, he’ll take it. He’s a winner!
“This really makes up for the election.” said a source close to Romney. “Mitt could really use the extra $192 million. It’s gonna help him a lot.”
Powerball officials said that Romney’s ticket matched all six numbers to win the record-high jackpot. Marsha Donley, a production coordinator for the Multi-State Lottery Association, told WWN that the jackpot increased to $587.5 million by the time of the drawing, making the cash option $384 million, which will be split equally.
The numbers drawn for Wednesday night, for the second-highest jackpot in U.S. lottery history, are:
5, 16, 22, 23, 29 and Powerball of 6
Romney reportedly said that he was glad he won in 2012 because “taxes are going through the roof in 2013 and the government would take a bigger chunk.”
Ann Romney told WWN that she plans on using the money to help build a house that goes up and down into the ocean outside La Jolla. “I think that would be really cool to have a house that can submerge in the water and then come up and rise above all the other houses. It would be so much fun for us and our 57 grandchildren.
Romney plans on donating $1 million to the Mormon church.
Some in Washington are saying that this guy had something to do with Romney winning the Powerball lottery:
