He’s an Olympics legend and now… a New York Jet!
“I’m a legend now,” Usain bolt said. With the 200-meter gold medal in his pocket after a winning run of 19.32 seconds Thursday night, The World’s Fastest Man now gets ready for the 4×100 relay. If he can lead the Jamaicans to a victory there, he’ll be 3 for 3 at these Olympics, same way he was in Beijing four years ago.
But he’s already planning on his life after the Olympics. “Usain has always wanted to play football in America. He also feels that he wants to be in the biggest city in the world, so he can take advantage of all the other offers coming his way – books, film, TV.”
He actually worked out with the Jets before going to London:
Usain signed with the New York Jets, but he had one demand. “He wants to play with Tim Tebow as Quarterback. Usain believes that he and Tebow are very similar and wants to play with Tebow as quarterback,” said a friend close to the Jamaican Olympic team.
Usain already sent Tebow a gift:
“The guy is just on another planet right now,” said an American Olympic sprinter. “He’s the greatest Olympic runner in the history of the world and now… he wants to be the greatest wide receiver that has ever played in the NFL.”
“The New York Jets are thrilled to have Bolt,” said a source close to the team. “He’ll be the number one receiver, even ahead of Santonio Holmes,” a Jets representative told WWN. “He’ll be unstoppable.”
He can run, but can he catch?
“We can teach him to catch, but speed like that… you can’t teach,” said a Jets coach.
Bolt plans splitting his time between Kingston, Jamaica and his new home in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.
