A gigantic asteroid is heading for earth and may make a… deep impact!
It’s the biggest threat to Earth in a millenium.
The space rock, which is called 2014 AZ5, is about 960 feet wide. It may come hit Earth in early 2013 and there are urgent meetings going on among scientists on how deflect it.
Talk about the asteroid was on the agenda during the 49th session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space ( COPUOS), held earlier this month in Vienna.
A UN Action Team on near-Earth objects noted the asteroid’s repeat approaches to Earth and the possibility, that 2014 AZ5 might hit us in twelve months.
The object was discovered in January 2011 by Mount Lemmon Survey observers in Tucson, Ariz. While scientists have a good bead on the space rock’s size, its mass and compositional makeup are unknown at present.
“2014 AZ5 is the object which currently has the highest chance of impacting Earth in March of 2013,” said Quami Lochmo of the European Space Agency’s Solar System Missions Division in the Dutch city of Noordwijk.
“We are currently also in the process of making governments around the world aware of the situation,” Lochmo said. ”
The near-Earth asteroid 2014 Az5 has an impact probability of 1 in 125 for March 17, 2013, said Donald Lochmo.
This impact probability isn’t set in stone, however. It can be changed slightly.
It’s not clear what part of Earth the asteroid will hit first, but some are speculating that California in the United States may get the biggest impact.

Asteroids are a great fascination of mine. I cannot wait to see this one in 2014. I’ve read that they are made of interesting materials and if this one lands on earth it will give me (and scientists of course) a unique opportunity to touch and feel something that may have traveled the expanses of space beyond our wildest dreams.

A body that is over nine hundred feet wide and by the pictures twice that in length would have an ELE effect on the planet. It is not California that would be effected but most of the world. California would be gone and the other natural events that could be triggered like a volcanic eruption in Yellowstone, It is frightening to think of it. I can only pray that an error has been made or that the world's governments will band together to avert this huge rock from hitting us.

2014 AZ5 no such asteroid exist! As previous post stated all new asteroids discovered are given the year of their discovery in their name! so unless my calender is wrong we are not yet in 2014

i would be worried about a super volcano than asteroid,because no one any where in the world will survive a super volcano,the poison gases will kill you and these gases go right around the earth,a asteroid would only damage part of america not all,it would have to be a massive rock to destroy the earth.

So I suspect that right before the sun or just right after the sun hits Jesus releases a great mile long rock called "millstone" from heaven to wipe out one third of sun, moon, and earth. As a result china moves in to attack Israel and 1/2 of them die. The new world order Gog and Magog will move in claiming to be true christ from the north and stand on mt. Olives for one year. When the man of sin (most believe Obama) is finally revealed along with the false prophet (the new Pope), then I would get worried. The implanting of the mark of the beast is just around the corner. If these things come to fruition, then I’ll believe that all scripture is true. Other is literal proof that there are several books of what we call the Bible left out.
