$2.5 MILLION CHINESE YACHT SINKS ON FIRST DAY

CHINA –  SS Jiugang sunk on it’s maiden voyage.  And Leonardo DiCaprio wasn’t aboard.

The Chinese vessel made her maiden voyage in the Yellow River.  Check out the video below as the vessel was christened and put into the water.’

It’s  heartbreaking to watch – but a lot of fun!

Watch the enthusiastic and excited people push the boat into the river only to watch the boat’s stern quickly sink into the muddy waters.  My Heart Will Go On.

WWN contacted Lanzhou city Ministry of Transportation Propaganda chief surname Qiao, who verified this event and explained that “the cause of the event was due to improper handling from the builders who mistakenly estimated the water level causing the water level to exceed the limit, leading to the rear half of the ship to take on water and sink.”

October 2nd, the boat was pulled from the water, and is currently under repair. Chief Qiao stressed, the builders should bear the main responsibility for this incident, and that this incident did not produce any casualties, while expressing that, “currently the boat is undergoing repairs and it is estimated that it will launch again in a month.”

Thankfully, there were no injuries – well, just some reputations.

  2. I hope the Chinese didn't connect the sinking to some sort of feng shui. Anyway, it is unfortunate indeed, it is really best to have at least pontoon rental for backup on their boats for rescue. I am sure if it was from Japan, they wouldn't let this happen.

  3. Have they thought about the design of the yacht? Hey, any one who look at the bottom part of the yacht would really think that it will sink considering the height and weight of it. They should've tried spellmans marina.
