FAMILY GUY IS COMING TO BROADWAY!

NEW YORK – The theatrical adaptation of the popular “Family Guy” television show will open on Broadway this April, producers said yesterday.
“Family Guy: The Musical” is projected to open at the Booth Theatre in mid-April, with preview performance beginning as early as February.
Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, and Jason Moore, the play’s director, made the announcement via a posting on the TV show’s website.
“Tired of all the violence and sex you see on TV? Then you better get tickets to Family Guy: The Musical! That’s right! Family Guy is coming to Broadway!” said the post.

Though the show has yet to debut, theatre critics everywhere are already calling it the most “anticipated production in Broadway history.”
Due to advance ticket sales and online ticket trading sites like Stub-Hub and EasyBroadway, opening night has already sold out, sources at the Booth Theatre said.
According to press releases, Pharell Williams, of The Neptunes, will write the show’s musical score, and Banksy, the elusive street artist, will design the set.
Producers say the Broadway production will draw from the original Family Guy TV show, as well as its spin-offs, “American Dad” and “The Cleveland Show.”
According to the show’s director, the role of Peter Griffin will be played by John Goodman. He will be accompanied by Kathy Griffin as Lois Griffin, Jonah Hill as Chris Griffin, Rachel Dratch as Meg Griffin, Seth Rogen as Brian, and Sacha Baron Cohen as Stewie.
Out-of-town tryouts for additional parts will be held in various cities across the United States. As of press time, the roles of Cleveland, Quagmire, Joe Swanson, and Mort Goldman have yet to be filled.
