LOS ANGELES – Hugh Hefner, 84, got engaged to his great-grandniece, Crystal Harris, 24, on Christmas Eve.
It’s a May-Miss December romance. The bride is 24. The groom is 84. She was Playmate of the Month in December 2009 in Playboy Magazine.
But WWN genealogists examined the family tree of Crystal Harris and she is Hef’s great-grandniece, which may explain the strong attraction. Hef’s brother, Harry had three daughters and one of those daughters, Emily Harris, had two sons, one whom, Arthur fathered Crystal.
Hef became a free man after divorcing wife Kimberley Conrad this year. Not that marriage ever slowed down his dating life. He divorced his first wife, Mildred Williams, in 1959. This Friday, more than half a century later. He tweeted:.
After the movie tonight, Crystal & I exchanged gifts. I gave Crystal a ring. A truly memorable Christmas Eve.
The following day, he added:
When I gave Crystal the ring, she burst into tears. This is the happiest Christmas weekend in memory.
And this:
Yes, the ring I gave Crystal is an engagement ring. I didn’t mean to make a mystery out of it. A very merry Christmas to all.
Hugh Hefner gave Crystal the engagement ring on Christmas Eve. Hefner posted that he and Harris spent the night before Christmas watching a movie, then exchanging gifts. Hefner had a few for his girlfriend, which Harris tweeted pictures of, including the legendary diamond Playboy watch.
Hefner’s love life has, of course, been well documented – including the popular reality show showcasing a trio of girlfriends in “The Girls Next Door.”
Hefner and his previous wife, 1988 playmate of the year Kimberley Conrad, were married in 1989 and separated in 1998. They divorced this year. Now Hefner will walk down the aisle half a century after his first marriage in 1959 to Mildred Williams.
Family members have not been told yet about that Hef and Harris are related. Some speculate that it won’t affect the wedding at all.
If you think Hef might not be the exact icon of monogamy or a perfect relationship, he begs to differ. In an interview after the breakup of Sandra Bullock and Jesse James, he said more than anyone, he knows all of the sides to a relationship – and what makes one work.
“I was married and completely faithful for eight years,” he told Radar. “I lived a single life, a playboy lifestyle, before and after it, but while I was married I was faithful to it.” Hefner says he uses Viagra – which he called “God’s little helper” – a couple of times a week.

Men usually say that, but if the tables were turned and it was a 90-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man…I bet the story would be different. It also may be because he's rich, but definitely he's shallow, for all he sees is outer beauty, he never gets with older women because they have strong minds and wills. And before one of you guys says, yeah but she'd be 'ugly', you're wrong, there are many physically beautiful women out there over 40 and above–besides if you do say that then you're lying about thinking/saying 'age has nothing to do with love' – unless you have no idea what love is.
