TIME TRAVELER CAUGHT ON FILM

BELFAST – Irish filmmaker, George Clarke,  spots a time traveler using a mobile phone in an old Charlie Chaplin film.

George Clarke, of Belfast, Ireland bought a box set of old Charlie Chaplin films.  He studied the films carefully and saw a few frames that caught his eye.   There seems to be a woman, or a man in drag, walking on a street talking on a mobile phone.

The “phone” is clearly held up to her ear int he film.   There is no other logical explanation for this clip, except that the person was a time traveler.

Stephen Hawking recently said he believed in time travel, BUT you could only travel into the future because if you could travel into the past there would be all these people from the future walking around amongst us.

Hawking was asked about this video.  He said that while humans can only travel forward in time, objects can travel into the past.  Therefore, he believes that the person in the film was actually using a mobile phone (circa 1991).  “The mobile phone traveled back in time and landed on the set of Charlie Chaplin, who was known to be a person who dabbled in time-space experiments.   I believe this to be concrete evidence of time travel.”

By the way, Hawking added that animals could not travel either forward or backward through time.  They can only travel through space – going from one continent to another in the blink of an eye  (more on that later).

In the meantime, watch the video.  What do you think???

  1. Walkie-talkies were in use by the government (armed forces, etc) at that time. It could be that secret service-types were employed to keep an eye on things and ensure that the event passed without any incidents (e.g. kidnapping of Chaplin). Suspect they would use walkie-talkies.
A woman would be less noticeable, perhaps, so an agent dresses up in drag and uses the walkie-talkie to keep in touch with his colleagues who are in the vicinity.

    • He is in Northern Ireland nursing a rock wound to side of the head, you know the "Troubles". Time traveller my ass!

    • For your Information Ie Walkie Talkies were not developed until the 1940;s and they were huge. Please do research on this and you will see. There is no Explination for this.

  2. The early years of the 20th century saw the first attempts at wireless and mobile telephony. In 1908, U.S. Patent 887,357 for a wireless telephone was issued to Nathan B. Stubblefield of Murray, Kentucky. He applied this patent to "cave radio" telephones and not directly to cellular telephony as the term is currently understood.[1] Two years later Lars Magnus Ericsson installed a telephone in his car, although this was not a radio telephone. While travelling across the country, he would stop at a place where telephone lines were accessible and using a pair of long electric wires he could connect to the national telephone network.[2]

  3. It's not a phone. Clearly the dimensions are in the ratio 1:4:9 so it must be a small version of the "2001, A Space Odyssey" Obelisk. Therefore, she must be a space alien "phoning" home using the Obelisk! Imagine what the Roaming Charges would be to place a call outside of the Solar System using a cell phone. I hear that the Obelisk is quite affordable for inter-galactic calling with "No Roaming Charges Anywhere in the Milky Way."

  4. First! Sorry,I don't think it's a person on a cell phone from the future. It appears to be but I think the fact that the man in front of "her" isn't looking back is strange. Shouldn't he at least look back to see who she is talking to. He should be surprised she's talking on a cell phone unless this lady was a common sight. Perhaps it is a man like everyone thinks it is. However, unlike the time traveler in disguise it's just a crazy man that dresses like a woman and walks around talking to herself into a tape recorder. Maybe it's a crazy homeless person talking into a walkie talkie with the antenna broken off.

  5. Normally I'd point out that Siemens patented a hand-held hearing aid device about the size and shape of what she's holding way back in 1924, and that's probably what it is… BUT this is Weekly World News. So…

Of course it's a time traveler! And what's more – it must be a Companion, and the man walking in front of her must be an incarnation of the Doctor – that explains why the phone works (because it's in proximity to the TARDIS, of course), and why the man in front of her isn't looking at her like she's mad. It's the ONLY RATIONAL EXPLANATION. Come get me, Doctor! Take me with yooou…

    There 🙂

  7. It could be Charlie Chaplin playing a joke on people. It is said that Charlie Chaplin found the subject of time travel to be of great interest.

He could have thought "hey one day these phone things may not always be stationary objects but may turn into mobile instruments". He may have just told the woman(?) to act like she is talking into a handheld box, waiting for someone to notice the oddity of it all which has happen 82 years later.

That explanation is not too far-fetched.

It may be one the greatest Hollywood pranks of all-time.

  8. Walkie Talkies were first used in 1940 & were vacuum tube devices. The earliest models were worn on the back. Nothing this small existed until transistors were used, many years later, nearly 30 years after this film was made. Likewise, hearing aids in the 1920's were also made using vacuum tubes & large batteries, possibly concealled by clothing in this film

  11. In my perspective it does not look like shes holding a cellphone.
Usually the person that talks on a cell phone holds a phone like :
-an unclosed fist and the thumb would be on the side,
In the video, the person has his:
-pinky and ring finger put together and
-spread apart is his middle finger and index finger closes over. And the thumb isn't at the side it is behind the palm from the angles shown

And also in the video at around 4:27- 4:28
Right after the person turns and fades out her palm releases and there is nothing inside her palm.
I looked closely if she was holding a phone there would be pieces of it sticking out from the bottom and top of the person's hand.
The person in front of the person would be curios, and/or freaked out,
I can't exactly explain what the person is doing, maybe itching her face, i'm not trying to be a skeptical troll, i'm just looking at another side of the story,
it could be a cellphone or whatever, good find though.

  13. Examine the facts:
    1) If time travel is possible, we should see people form the future telling us how to do it.
    2) If we discover suddenly that time travel exists, it will change everything we know about the world.
    3) The commotion could release some kind of global disaster.

So, if you can travel thru time, what you should do? The answer is: give people in the past the information in small but irrefutable doses.

Time traveler knows that Chaplin's movies will survive thru times. He or she knows that mobile technology is an irrefutable "sign of the times". So, he or she planted this evidence in order to gain attention from us. Just that: gain attention. In the next few years, we will "discover" other future technologies in old movies, as the Star Trek phaser, the Lost in Space Robot, the Lucy's Vitameatavegamin and so on, until we all are convinced that time travel is possible. Early attempts to do so, as the mayan astronaut and the DaVinci's drawings were not good enough.

Once we all understand that fact as a fact, time traveler can present among us with a message form the future. When? December 21st 2012 could be a good date. Maybe 2015, according to reliable sources.

  14. If you look into the history of the walkie talkie the first one did not come out until the 1940's and it was worn on the back. It was quite large. Another think you have to remember is that such technology did not exist for us at that time. The components in a current cell phone have been manufactured with equipment and technologies that were not even thought of then. So the fact that this person is talking would have to mean that there was another person with similar technology on the other end. And since there were no cellular towers or satellites, and unless there is some way that they can communicate from different timelines, well use your imagination.

  16. Sorry, Walkie Talkies weren't invented until the 1938, and even then the unit was large. Grant you, from our time period, it looks like a cell phone but it's not. One last thought, if I went back to 1960 with a cell phone I couldn't use it. Why? No frequency carriers, satellites, etc.

  18. well.. the only thing i can think of is perhaps it is a spy from a foreign country using advanced government technology? a man dressed in drag as an old lady to appear inconspicuous in a major city such as L.A. during a time between world wars. I'm sure there was a lot of tension between certain nations which would give good reason why a spy would be lurking and may be why the person appears shocked when caught on camera?

  19. She could be trying to avoid the camera with her hand. But yes it does look like some one caught on the mobile phone as they turn around.

  20. Am sorry as much as i would like to believe if we as a species are capable of time travel we would be so far advanced i think somehow mobile phones would be obselete. Who knows what mobile phones would be like in the future and the technological advancements in that field are astonishing however she looks like she is holding a brick of a mobile phone, a nokia from the 1990s, so i suggest it is something other than a mobile phone, and the logical answer is probably so innocent….. quiffy

  21. It's very possible that the person talking on that device could've been someone already in that dimension and got caught temporarily in that stage for a short period of time and you can see the person and the shadow slowly vanish from the picture, no one around him or her can really notice that the person is talking, is like an image of matter in a few frames, but no sound.

  23. Receivers usually features a squelch circuit to cut off the audio output from the receiver when there is no transmission to listen to. This is in contrast to broadcast receivers, which often dispense with this.
