NEW YORK, NY – Looks like some Pentagon employees have been a little naughty!
The Pentagon has a very important job – to keep this country safe from any and all threats. Definitely a job that is enough to keep all of its employees very busy. A select few, however, figured that since everyone is tied up in other matters, they could go about their own business. That business would be indulging in some pornography. Well … it seems as though that didn’t work out too well.
The Department of Defense will reopen its investigation into employees who are alleged to have downloaded child pornography after stopping the reviews because of a lack of resources, a spokesman said Wednesday.
According to spokesman Gary Comerford, the Pentagon will review 264 cases.
The incidents were part of Project Flicker, a nationwide child pornography sting conducted several years ago by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. The Department of Defense released documents pertaining to the sting earlier this summer.
“I have tasked Defense Criminal Investigative Service representatives with reviewing each and every Project Flicker and related referral DCIS received so as to ensure action was taken regarding these allegations involving employees of the Department of Defense,” Deputy Inspector General for Investigation James Burch said in a statement.
Among the employees identified in a series of reports released by the department were some listed as having security clearances at the top secret level or higher. They worked for groups within the department such as the National Security Agency and the National Reconnaissance Office, two of the country’s top intelligence agencies.
Some of the employees are suspected of having used their work computers to view pornographic websites.
I don't know why anyone would be surprised about pentagon officials using their computers to view porn.
