SNOOKI SLAMMED BY NY TIMES

MIAMI, FL – The second season of The Jersey Shore kicks off July 29, but Snooki might be kicking things off on a bad note!
Nicole Polizzi became one of biggest stars of The Jersey Shore cast – more so when she was the victim of punch to the face. Snooki fascinated many with her love of pickles, her bubbly persona and her hopeless quest for love at the Shore. The NY Times, looking to gear up for the upcoming season, took some time out to run a profile on the self-proclaimed “Princess of Poughkeepsie.”
The end result of that profile was shocking – to say the least. If the goal was to place Snooki in a positive light, then the Times failed in that mission. The 2,000 word feature of Snooki seems to do nothing more than belittle her and mock her.If someone who had never watched the show read the article, writer Cathy Horyn did a great job of not instilling the slightest motivation to watch the show.
Some sample lines of Horyn’s piece:
“She is busty and short-waisted with small legs; sort of like a turnip on its tip”
“But trying to hold a conversation with Snooki is a little like getting down on your hands and knees with a child. You have to come down to her level, and sometimes you almost think you need to bribe her with a piece of candy to coax her to be more responsive.”
“She simply isn’t capable of serious introspection. She told me she has read only two books in her life. ‘Twilight’ and Dear John.'”
Her father also lent his two cents on the personality that is Snooki – not sure what to make of it.
“She’ll be up there hooting and hollering, and I’ll say to someone, ‘What is it that draws you to my daughter? Be honest.’ Because it’s very hard for me to see what it is. She don’t sing. She don’t dance. I don’t want to say she don’t have talent … Everyone basically says they can relate to her. I think Nicole’s just a likable person.”
Read the whole profile here. Season 2 kicks off this Thursday.
