NEW YORK, NY – Two news hosts have engaged in a war of words!
With ratings dropping, news hosts are feeling the burn. There is added pressure to get higher ratings and stress is at an all time high. With those expectations in mind, some hosts have to resort to new ways to attract the appropriate ratings. Bill O’Reilly and Rachel Maddow have decided to battle for those ratings – in a very public way.
Wednesday night, O’Reilly called Maddow out. The host of The O’Reilly Factor said Fox News “kicks your network’s butt every single night, madam.” He followed that statement up with a question: “You have to be kidding with this fake ACORN scandal stuff. Unbelievable. Do you live in this country?”
Maddow did not pass up an opportunity to go at it with O’Reilly and responded to his comments on Thursday night.
“If by this country you mean is my office right across the street from yours? Yes,” Maddow said. “Unless there’s an unguarded border down the middle lane of Sixth Avenue, yes, I live in what you call this country.”
She took a great liking to his use of “madam” and stated that O’Reilly fell back on ratings to avoid the substance of her argument, which is that stories like the Shirley Sherrod scandal are exactly what Fox News is all about.
“Mr. O’Reilly, you and Fox get great ratings,” she said. “It is so awesome how great your ratings are. You have very big ratings this year.”
She proceeded to list a variety of entertainment programs – from “Deadliest Catch” to “The Closer” to WWE Wrestling to “Spongebob” – that beat both her show and O’Reilly’s show, and said that facts are more important than TV ratings.

The simple issue here is that Maddow is correct: Fox news again and again shares highly selectively edited footage to convey false information and spread lies. Watch Maddow's assessment archived on her website. I dare you.
Fox editing? I have seen plenty of MSNBC editing too? Selective and bias news. They clearly speak for liberals only. I know there are clowns like Beck and Hannity in Fox news but they are no different than Olberman, Maddow and Matthews. What type of flase information does Fox gives, can you give me example? Just like MSNBC most of the Fox are based upon opinion show. And to be honest O Reilly is the good show, he agrees and disagree with both parties.
BS, O Reilly might be the best on Fox but that's like being the thinnest kid at fat camp. Fox only supports the republican viewpoint the same way MSNBC supports librals. The knee-jerk response to everything is to blame it on or disagree with Obama no matter what the consequences

Where is the O'Reilly video. Rachel never mentioned that Ms. Sherrod was forced to resign BEFORE FOX aired the video.
Bull O'Really is a fine entertainer, the best straight man in the business since Bud Abbot. He never leaves character when performing. Someday the wold will recognize him for the great comic talent the is.

I was flipping through the channels and just happened to land on your show when you were exposing the pathetic rants of O'Rielly-that was so AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! You could so clearly envision O'Reilly sittin in the sand on the playground while sticking his tongue out saying "na na na na na, my ratings are better than yours" and then you point out that, "true, AND Hanna Montana has better ratings than either of us- Touche!!!!!!! I am stunned by your awesomeness Rachel. I had never heard of you before, but after watching your show I have become an instant fan. So, I have added a peep. My new peeps are Ellen D, Oprah, and Rachael Maddow.
I was wondering why I had never run across your show before when I realized that since I am one of those durn hard-working Americans with a sense of responsibility, I go to bed early because I have to WORK because I have a JOB. But now, being industrious and determined, I am taping your show so that I will never miss it. (Ah yeah, I still use my VCR, it's kinda like an 8-track now I guess. I can afford TVO and DVR (because I have a JOB) and all that crap, but why bother when my VCR works just fine? Guess I'll keep using it until they stop selling blank VHS tapes).
