JERSEY SHORE CAST GOING ON STRIKE

MIAMI, FL – Too much tanning and hair gel is clouding the judgement of the Jersey Shore cast!
A 200 percent raise apparently isn’t good enough for the cast of the Jersey Shore. All that GTL (Gym, Tan, Laundry) gets expensive and the members of the hit show are looking for a bigger payday. The cast has decided to go on strike until their demands are met.
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is one cast member that has been satisfied with his new contract and inked a deal for the third season of Jersey Shore.
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jennifer “JWoww” Farley and the rest of the party goers were making $5,000 per episode for season 1. That salary got bumped up to $10,000 per for season two. It has been reported that all cast members are looking for $30,000 per for all upcoming episodes.
Ongoing salary negotiations were reportedly holding up production on the rest of the current 24-episode season, which premieres July 29, but any raises won’t go into effect until cameras start rolling on season three.
“We don’t comment on any contractual conversations. Season 2 premieres July 29 and production is on schedule,” MTV said in a statement yesterday.
“Mike has been packed and ready to go for days for Jersey Shore 3 and is excited to move forward with the shooting,” Sorrentino’s manager Michael Petolino said.
“After hearing there was a rumored strike by the cast, Mike decided in order to get season 3 done, he was going to have to lead the pack and wants to encourage the rest of his cast to follow his lead and return for another amazing season of Jersey Shore,” Petolino added.
Getting paid for drinking, partying and wearing ridiculous clothes seems like a very sweet deal. As popular as they may be, the cast isn’t exactly making or breaking Hollywood. There is a chance that season 2 might not even be as good as the first. It seems as though the cast of the Jersey Shore needs to swallow their pride, go get their tanning on and enjoy their sweet deals.
