NEW YORK, NY – Kathy Griffin did an excellent job of putting her foot in her mouth!
Kathy Griffin is the star of her own reality TV show, “My Life on the D-List” which airs on Bravo. During an episode last week, Griffin joked that Republican Senator Scott Brown “has two daughters that are prostitutes.” That’s one giant tub of hot water that Griffin wishes she never jumped into and now the backlash has commenced.
Her comments have received huge criticism and she just may be upgraded to the “A-List” with all the attention she’s getting from them.
CNN reporter Dana Bash burst out into laughter at Griffin’s comment during their interview, which refers to Brown’s statements during his Senate victory speech in Massachusetts earlier this year that his daughters were “available.”
While Bash may have found the comment amusing, others aren’t taking it the same way.
Talk show host Elisabeth Hasselbeck called Griffin “scum” on “The View” Monday morning.
“You defend your daughters against scum who come after them,” said Hasselbeck, before co-host Whoopi Goldberg added she would “beat” anyone who talked about her daughter that way. Keep in mind that this is the same Goldberg that has gone on record as defending Mel Gibson – so she must be really pissed.
Brown has also weighed in on the issue and slammed Griffin for her comment on Friday.
“People can call me any name they want, but families are off limits,” he said in the statement to FoxNews.com. “I love my daughters Ayla and Arianna very much, and any parent would be proud to have them as children. Kathy Griffin and Bravo ought to be ashamed of themselves.”
Get over it everyone, she's a comedian. Phffffft !
Seriously, when u are a public figure, u put your self, and sad to say, your family out there to be talked about. It is reactions like this that make people say the things they do. If people would just chill out and not make big deals about what people say it would not be an issues. People just want publicity on both sides. Who really cares.? Is it that big a deal that she said this. Regular people get called names all the time. Just deal with it!@!!!!
Hassselbeck has no humor in her and she is an ignorant snob who likes the Second George Bush. This woman is a loser and the people she represents are not worth anyone's time. Elizabeth Hasselbeck please go away!
I do agree that kids should be off limits, so don't start it by saying their available. As for Hasselbeck-Kathy makes her look like an ass everytime she's on the show. Kathy is way too fast for Hasselbeck and this is Hasselbeck's way of getting a free shot. People may not like it, but it's called freedom of speech.
I live in China, and I can assure you that the methods of internet control that Mr Cameron mentioned work really well here in dealing with disturbances, particularly student, dissidents, artists and other trouble-makers.
